Hmm... I hope Amazon.com doesn't start accepting 'sexual favors' as payment for DVDs. It would make the return process so much more confusing.

Hi all. I've been lurking and finally decided to post. I'm a high school English teacher and not only have I suggested Firefly to all my coworkers in the English department, but last week I offered extra credit to any student who buys Firefly on DVD. This may be a grave abuse of power, but I feel the end justifies the means. So by the time th esemester's over I may have converted 40 people, albeit some by force.

LOL...yes, but if any parents complain, be sure to explain that the student(s) misheard and what you said was they get extra credit for watching and writing an essay on Firefly (of course buying the DVD set themselves makes it easier for them to write a good essay -- and therefore get more extra credit -- than if they have to borrow or rent disks...)

4 or 5 personally, but I also went to a gaming convention in Hands of Blue apparel and got at least three others intrigued enough to buy the DVD set. Does that count?

History doesn't always repeat itself. Sometimes it merely shouts "Weren't you listening the first time?!?" and lets fly with a club.

Hard to know how many I've converted. I got several DVDs at SunCoast for only twenty bucks and used them as Christmas presents. So, my brother and his family and two nephews got them. I haven't heard from any of them as to whether they've watched. Turned on my ex and now her sister and husband have borrowed a copy. A co-worker is starting to watch. So, anywhere from three to ten.

With the movie coming out it will be easier to convert some of those holdouts to take in Firefly...er, Serenity. Just offer to take them to the movie and let Joss and cast do the rest.

Do I get double points for trying to convert a person that I don’t even really like? Talk about taking one for the team, but I have ~5 converts and if I can get this one person I truly dislike, that shall stay nameless, I will have her and three of her friends.
