I too am a libertarian, and also enjoy that aspect of the show.

This thread is insane. I like practical jokes, but a fake Joss Whedon news story is not cool, even one with tigers.

This is possibly the most entertaining thread ever. So illogical and fun. Continue, please.

I heartily concur with Succatash on this. I'm an old guy and I have to say that, Firefly aside, today's entertainers are just not up to the standard of those of yesteryear. NO OFFENSE TO JOSS WHEDON, I think he's a brillian writer and director, but I still say he couldn't have the kind of all-around talent that would allow him to fill in for Roy Horn as a magician and tiger tamer. Now, Sammy Davis Jr. for instance, might have pulled it off. He could dance, sing, act and do that fancy western gun twirling. Sometimes I like to fantasize about what Firefly would have been like if the Rat Pack had starred in it - Frank would (obviously) be Mal, Dino would be Jayne, I guess Peter Lawford would be Book and Sammy would be the pilot guy (whose name escapes me). As for the ladies, Marilyn could be Inara, Joey Heatherton could be Kaylee, Eartha Kitt could play Gina Torres's part and Shirley McClaine could play River 'cause she's crazy! I'd love to have seen Bobby Darin guest star but he left us so young.

I don't see why you'd want to see different people in Firefly. I'd like to see the cast of Firefly return for a different show. Their all so talented. It could be like After M*A*S*H but good. Like they could all play the same characters, but now they own a gas station or a restaurant or they all make souvenirs and sell them by the road or they could have a musical variety show like the Brady Bunch Hour.

I would like to see Nathan Fillion play Stanley Kowalski in Streetcar someday. I also get a gut feeling that Morena Baccarin would a perfect Sandy in Grease. Has anyone else bought the video of Xanadu?

Good to hear it. I am damn sick of the media only giving us the Democratic-liberal-Jewish view of things and I'd like to take the time to thank Joss Whedon personally for giving a voice to those of us who wish to live free of governmental restrictions.

For example - I am a member of the Redeemed Church of Canaan, which is a very obscure off-shoot of the Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). One of the teachings of my faith is we believe in polygamy. I recently saw Jerry Falwell on TV comparing polygamy to the North American Man-Boy Love Association! This is specious at best. What goes on between two, three, or fourteen consenting adults can hardly be compared to homosexual child abuse! The bible says that if a man lays with another man it is a sin, but my faith directs me to go forth and mulitply, yet the government feels that, despite the so-called separation of church and state, it can regulate my right to marry several woman at once! They have no problem with amoral libertines marrying several people over a lifetime - polluting each others sacred bodily temples with the juices and discharges of strangers! Yet they see me as depraved! I for one have had enough!

So, in conclusion, thank you Joss Whedon!

This thread has gone wrong on so many levels.

Not only is a false Joss story uncool, but going off topic w/ religious and political viewpoints is a bit overboard.

I have to agree with you and I want to apologize to anyone I might have offended. I can only say that I tend to shoot my mouth off alot lately. I'm and old guy and have been suffering from a particularly bad case of bleeding hemorrhoids (an unfortunate side-effect of the Atkins diet). I also have acid reflux. I'll try to keep a reign on things.
