Yes, we are all Firefly fans.. My point is that most of us Firefly fans don't spout our controversial and to many offensive political rhetoric in our sig line.
Believe me I have opinions that would offend others but they don't belong here in every thread I post to.

I did what you're talking about only in the most low tech way possible, I put a tape recorder next to our sound system's primary speaker and just let it roll. One episode fits perfectly on one side of a 90 minute audio cassette. The sound is not perfect but pretty damn good. I did investigate ripping the audio from DVD to CD and there is software out there that will do it but it costs around 30.00. I am happy enough with what I've got so I never went any further with it. If you or anybody else is interested I'll see if I can find the link to that software again.
I think I know a way to get better sound. I'm not positive, but it should work.
If you tape player has an audio-in jack (for a microphone, for example), plug a double-male audio cord into that. Plug the other end into your computer's audio-out port. Play episode, record.
I think that should get you a cleaner sound....but I've never actually tried it, so I don't know.

Server's still down... and I'm up to 70 songs after finishing "Safe". Keep in mind I'm doing them all in order ;) I expect the grand total to be well past 200.

Thanks Lindley, I'll check my equipment out and see if I've got the necessary jacks and ports. If it works I'll post and let you know.
In a further related post I mentioned that I had found some DVD to CD software, it's called DVD Audio Ripper 1.0.17 and it's available from Download.com. Cost is $29.00

Are you doing River's dance music?
And also, is your server still down?
