The the blooper is in "Objects in Space" when Jayne appears so surprised "you mean she really reads minds?!?! I don't like the idea of people knowin' what I'm thinking!"

Good. Thanks for the update.
Actually, since he DOES say "you mean she really reads minds" one could assume the "mind reading genius" comment he made in "The Message" was meant as a joke on Jayne's part and he was surprised his joking comment was actually true.

I noticed in Safe, when Mal is trying to sell the cows and the buyer complains they haven't been fed properly, Mal says he'd been feeding them milk and hay three times a day. Well I don't think you feed milk to cows. Should say water. If they drank milk, you could just link some tubes from their udders to the mouth.

On my taped copy of Ariel (stil waiting for DVD region 2) the spanner Mal uses to whack Jayne dissapears as he's hitting him. Looks like they forgot, or didn't have time, to cgi it in. Is this mentioned in the commentaries?
Also, I recently saw Lost in translation with several visible booms. If filmmakers don't have a cgi budget, can't they just edit the shot - maybe cut off the top end and slightly stretch it, or shift the whole visible area down?

Actually, the problem would not have been with the film, but with your projectionist. There is a lot more information that is caught on a film than is intended to be seen. When a film is projected it's intended to be "framed" in such a way so you only see as much as the filmmaker intended. Just as if you were watching a film where the projectionist framed the film too tightly and cut of folk's heads.
Roger Ebert harps on this fairly regularly.

Why include something in the reels that shouldn't be displayed, and might be?

I didn't take that as a blooper, just as Mal being a salemen/smartass.
I think it was intentional in the script.XenArc

just a general note on bloopers.....I don't think anybody posted this, and if they did then just ignore me.......
You can find bloopers for just about anything, movies or TV, at www.imdb.com (along with trivia, credits, clips, artwork, etc.) If you've watched the commentary, there's not much to see there for Firefly, but it is a pretty reliable place for info (such as the famous Book/No Book scandal. They haven't posted on it yet, but when they do, it will be the truth, not just rumor.)
Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there as it's a nice resource for fans......
Book: I'd forgotten - you're moonlighting as a criminal mastermind now.
Simon: No, but I'm thinking about growing a big black mustache. I'm a traditionalist.

Anybody notice the car (I think) driving left to right across the very back of the screen in War Stories, when Jayne and Book and Zoe notice the burn pattern?
Jen dao mei.

I had not noticed in car in that scene, but I will go home this evening & watch the episode to see if I can catch it.

As Xenarc mentions, this appears to be part of the salespitch. I think it's a smart-alex reference to "milk-fed veal" which is supposedly more tender and valuable... some cattle are actually milk-fed. Of course, these animals are neither veal calves nor would they actually be milk-fed, but the mental image of beautiful women handfeeding hay and milk to cows makes them sound like they've been very well treated.
I think this is Mal's tongue in cheek response to the accusation that the animals haven't been well fed. "Crap talk" as he puts it, in Mandarin.
Mal's just bantering in the time-honoured tradition of haggling.
