Isn't science great?

Since you're a genius on crack, explain to the peanut gallery how this UFO works, as exhibited by school geeks in science fairs worldwide:
Hint: It has zero moving parts...

I think PN had a 'Kodak' moment when he typed that one post.

186,000 mi/sec it's not just a good idea, it's the law
I think everyone knows that that speed of light is in a vacuum, and that light's speed can be changed by passing it through different media. And that's how they slowed/ stopped light the way it did - they just had to find the right media.

I never obey man's puny speed limits, why should God? Besides, there's no such thing as a vacuum.

This design takes advantage of the fact that particles produced in the interaction of the incoming neutrino with an atomic nucleus typically travel faster than the speed of light in the detector medium (though of course slower than the speed of light in a vacuum).

The neutrino burst is expected to reach Earth before any electromagnetic waves, including visible light, gamma rays or radio waves.

I did enjoy driving 130mph in bumper to bumper formation with commuter traffic for 3 hours nonstop on the German Autobahn. History Channel's camera crew drove 212mph at night in the rain on the Autobahn (Modern Marvels), 100% legal, where the death rate is far lower than USA.

I wonder why Gangsta Govt sues million$ of speeding ticket$, when its own official reports prove that speeding is SIX TIMES SAFER than driving the posted speed limit?
Speed limits are for sissies, and for those who flunked math. Many things in life appear to be counterintuitive, which explains why common sense is so uncommon.

Yeah, I put in that thing about speed limits on purpose just to dangle some bait ...
I hate to say it, but you've become predictable.
As to your first quote, the part you didn't underline goes like this: ... in the detector medium (though of course slower than the speed of light in a vacuum).
The second reference begins with this: "Neutrinos are elementary particles. Travelling close to the speed of light ..." The part you chose to extract was that the neutrinos would be creating that light on their way through matter - which is why they get to the earth first. It has nothing to do with neutrinos being faster, it has to do with them having a head-start.

That's the sound of something going over my head.
So, somebody want to explain this real slow, in terms I can understand? Please?

Apparently the point of this thread is that life is more complicated that it at first appears, and science is continually rediscovering itself. I think.
Einstein stole E=MC2 from guys in the 1870s, so the "speed limit of light" thing is 130 years out of date. Same with Einie's "infinite mass at light speed" crap, as anyone knows from standing in sunlight. Loony Einstein is worshipped as a god, yet his equations have never been verified by science.
Sir Newton had it right to begin with, even if he never did have sex his entire life. I guess that's what happens when you invent the calculus.
It's been said that humankind would be 2-million years more advanced, except psychopaths in Gangsta Govt keep slaughtering everyone and stealing their inventions, money, minds and souls.

Piratenews,
I'm still waiting for you to admit that your lightspeed/frequency shift/kodak argument is craptastically wrong.
You know, the one where all visible light that reaches the moon is upshifted into becoming invisible light.
The one where there's no visible light on the moon?
Oh come on, don't just fail to address it. Don't talk about einstein and don't talk about science projects and don't talk about jews or nazis or Satan. Don't tell me about the vacuum of space and don't talk about how you don't believe in speed limits.
Talk about how there's no visible light spectra on the moon, man! Oh, and keep telling me how stupid I am. It means so much coming from you.
