Seen the trailer for this TV show, coming out on our favorite channel Fox. You should be able to see a particular captain's driver's license on the page. Not sure if anyone else ever mentioned it, as I don't see anything over the past few days. Anyhoo, I hope he has great success. I plan on watching cause I love cars, and enjoy our captain's acting.

I can't help but be curious. What class of license is required to drive a Firefly? Inquiring minds want to know...

Anyway, based on the talent alone (Tim Minear, Nathan Fillion) this should be a good show. I'll be watching.

It being a cargo ship, I would imagine the equivalent of a commercial driver's license would be appropriate

With special consideration given for its inter-planetary capability, I would think.

First off, let me say that I'll will most definitely be watching the show. Anything by Tim Minear (who gave us OoG), starring Nathan Fillion is on my must-see list...

But reading the premise of the show? If somebody winds up having to save a cheerleader or unearths a mysterious capsule, I'm gonna have a hard time suspending my disbelief.

*******

A fly on the wall's perspective, interior of F*x TV boardroom...
EXECUTIVE: (stops shagging a sheep, momentarily) "Hey! ABC's got 'Lost' and NBC's got 'Heroes'. Isn't it about time we got a mysterious ensemble-thingy one-word titled show, too?"

ANOTHER EXECUTIVE: (pauses after pulling the wings off another fly) "...one hundred and... Damn! You made me lose count, again! ...Mysterious ensemble TV show, huh? I dunno, seems a bit risky, to me. I mean, CBS don't really have one yet, do they. Still, I have to admit these things do seem to be all the rage with the little people...And we'd definitely be one-upping the WB for a change!"

EXECUTIVE: (resuming the duties of his official job description) "Yeesss! (panting) We'd really show the WB or CW or whatnot who's the boss of them! Maybe we could find something similar on the BBC that we could 'borrow', as it were?"

SHEEP: (looking rather non-plussed, even for a sheep) "Baaah!"

ANOTHER EXECUTIVE: "What? Are you kidding?! Our viewership would never go for anything like that!"

EXECUTIVE: (sheepishly) "Sorry. I guess I wasn't thinking clearly."

ANOTHER EXECUTIVE: "...It'd have to be 'borrowed' from Channel 4."

FLY: (in a tiny voice) "Help me!...Help me!"

********

I could go on, but why flog a bored sheep?

Leerily,

zoid

P.S.
But like I said, I'm definitely going to give this show a chance. If anyone can make this project fly, it's Tim Minear. I just hope he ain't getting jobbed by the sheep humper, again...

Yeah, had I heard about this show and had not known that Tim Minear or Nathan Fillion would be involved I would definately disregard it completely, just because it sounds sort of outlandish, then I remembered hearing about a western in outter space and being just as dissmissive. That being said, I'll be tuning in.
