Thanks Whitefall. I don't really like that picture because my eyes are all squinty, but Annie looks so cute in it I couldn't resist.
Oh and my kids are 7th, 8th and 9th. The kid with the girlfriend is a 9th grader who is 15 so it's a little less odd for him to have a girlfriend:) Junior high is weird here it contains 7th, 8th, and 9th graders and 10th, 11th and 12th are high school.
Oh happy day!!!! MisterG gave me an early Valentine present. He got me the official Firefly companion ( part 1 since part 2 isn't out) Jewel's stories of the dress in Shindig are hilarious. So happy!!!

Middle school here is 6th, 7th and 8th grade. I think 6th graders are too young to be thrown in with 8th graders. I hope my son survives this Fall!
I used a family last name for my son's first name. I thought it'd be unique, now I hear it everywhere. I'm so pissed!

And therein lies the difference between middle school and junior high. So now you all know.
Went to junior high, myself. Seventh graders weren't that popular. I almost feel like sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grades should all have thier own seperate buildings. Maybe not all of them, but really...
Meh. School sucked. The false society it sets up was horrid to endure. I've heard it compared to prison society by all sorts of people, ranging from myself as a seventh grader to a well-educated psychologist.

Hey I'd agree with the prison society thing. It's all about attacking the weak members and being violently opposed to anyone who differes from the "norm" in the slightest way. It's strange that the kids so obsessed with "fair" are also the kids so aggressively committed to rooting out and preventing all diversity....but we're working on it.
Since we had such fun on crushes yesterday...I say we talk about what your anti-crush ( the real life or fictional person you took an instant and somewhat baseless dislike to)...mine is Russel Crowe. I know some people think he's handsome and I'll admit he's a great actor, but for some reason he just makes me irritated and vaguely nauseous.

Glad you can see the prison society, too. And you break it down very well. I'm soooo happy to be out of there. Of course with all the gossip and backstabbing and petty, sugar-coated nastiness going on at my office, it almost feels like I never left, except I only have to see those people a few minutes a day.
Can't think of any I have a baseless dislike of. It usually has to do with their voice (singers) or the fact that they're sellouts (anyone) or both.
Britney Spears
Gwen Steffani
American Idol (or anyone else who got a 'career' in music in just a few months on the boob tube)
Moby (and almost any other repetitive, annoyin techno artist, but especially Moby since he sold the rights to use every single one of his songs in advertising multiple times)
Jennifer Lopez
the Backstreet Boys *twitch*
Too many rappers to name, most notably DMX (talk about an ear-grating voice)
I could go on and on.

Oooh msg. Good one.
Mav's one real anticrush:
Colin Farrell.
You could bathe that man in bleach and I still wouldn't touch him. You could get a social disease just by looking at him.
(There's a really nasty .gif of him on photobucket I could post...bit I'm feeling a bit of decorum this morning. )

Howdy all! I spent yesterday at a conference for our clients regarding COBRA regulations. It was a BLAST[/] I tell ya.
(Actually, it wasn't too bad. Speaker is hilarious, but 8 hours is a LONG time to discuss COBRA, HIPAA and FMLA...especially when I've been to the conference before. Eek.Quote:

As a former teacher of 6th grade at an elementary school, I will say that some kids are ready for middle school and should stay at the elementary school for another year (or two, but that's not an option.
).And to Mav's super secret post about horse's galloping: I just have to say that's a piece of fiction from those romance novels. I've heard tell of a few women enjoying themselves, but it all involved a specific kind of saddle and some concerted effort. The majority of us riders will tell you that the only sensation involved in the nether regions is usually pain.

Morning, all.
Just got out of Tai Chi, and am pretty exhausted. Great way to exercise, if anyone's interested.

Rugbug, that's hilarious!!
Like I said, though, I want attention for more than just my nethers, anyway
I can't be the only one who feels that way? There's more to it than the nethers....
I need to shower, but I sliced my thumb open on a bag of dried fruit. Yes, laugh at me, for I managed to cut myself on a plastic fruit bag. It's like a papercut, only deeper. It is going to sting so bad!
See you in a bit if I don't pass out asleep... (oh please let me pass out; I don't want to oversleep again)

and of course the bruising Rugbug. Let's not forget the bruising:) Yeah I was never sure how the whole horseback self gratification thing was supposed to work. Only pleasure I've ever gotten is just the joy of riding:)
PR- I still think all of us should show up and hold a coven meeting in your breakroom...just to see the looks on the women's faces:)
Mav- ok now you have to post it, 'cause I always figured he was getting a bum rap because he drinks a lot and fights a lot ( and come on he's Irish so like that's a huge surprise)
Deepgirl- cool sweety as long as you enjoy it exhaustion can be fun:)
