Go Coats!

On the TVTally thing, though, maybe it should be Go Easy Coats? I'm a fan of all Joss Whedon's work, as are some of my friends. We've been voting here faithfully for Firefly, along with Buffy and Angel( a few of us).

We've been doing the same at TVTally. We've also been voting for top episodes. But what seems to happen is that every time a non-Firefly ep enters the top 5, it doesn't just get outvoted, its ratings drop.

Maybe this is a coincidence, but it 's been going on for a while, and I don't think so. If a few Firefly fans are not just voting for their favorites, but against other shows' episodes, even other Joss Whedon shows, it's going to earn the whole fandom an unlovely rep.

I've got nothing against being outvoted, and since there are so many Browncoats voting, I'd expect that to happen. But deliberately targetting other shows seems unnecessary and beneath us.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately, that pretty much means you have to accept no episodes in the top grouping. Personally, I'm prepared to accept that as a matter of honor. As pointed out before, there's no way to beat an episode with a rating of 10.

I really had not paid attention to the fallacies of the episode ranking. But now I'm convinced that TVTally needs to put a fix in place.

I noticed that FF has four episodes in the top five, and "24" had one. So on a lark I found that episode of 24 and gave it a 1 on the scale of 1 to 10. (Sorry "24" fans.)

I didn't think that one vote would change anything. But that episode of 24 immediately fell off of the top 5 list.

TVTally needs to apply some weight to the episode rating. What is in place is lame. (Except the last I looked, FF was all over the top 5 )

Edit: Oh look - it's back. I'd guess that there are a handful of "24" fans trying to "fix" that episode and use TVTally's system for their gain.
