sorry but i believe your logic is flawed. in the same way you could say that you could never compare shows from different genres. friends and scrubs hardly tries to achieve the same thing as 24 and prison break, yet your endorse the tv_vote site - ranking shows by completely different genres in a single list - by including it in your signature.

and now i think you are being a bit strong. ignore the site... for what reason? if people keep on voting and more people keep visiting and seeing firefly at #1 it will help spread the word about firefly. there is nothing negative about having your show at #1, and certainly absolutely nothing to lose. someone will never decide to NOT watch a show if it's so high on a top x list. frankly i prefer their structure and design to tv_vote's and their list includes more than 40 shows.
just my two cents. as you can tell i will continue to vote there and i hope others feel the same way and will help spread the word of firefly :)

If they TV tally settled for doing the show voting, I'd just say the site is redundant to TV_vote. It's the episode voting, and the method of the episode voting that I find... useless. There's too strong a motivator to "vote low" on other shows. At a miminum, they should only allow people to rate episodes who have voted positively in the per show rankings.
So, to be clear, I feel tv tally is "merely" redundant with regards to "per show" voting; and "wrong minded" in how it handles episode voting.

Ingore the site because it provides no additional value; and the episode rating methoded is wrong minded, in my humble opinion.
Obviously, this could be a case where people can feel legitimately differently. I just know I don't have time to track down (or even if provided to me to then vote in) every blessed poll thing someone decides to plop on the internet. If you feel tv tally has value, by all means, vote there.
