Can anyone tell me if this show is worth watching? It sounds a bit corny from what I can gather.. still I am looking for something to watch.

To quote Bruce Campbell, "That's porn for twelve year olds."
IE, a good thing
It was fun and campy stuff. Sort of Barbarella for TV, minus the naughty bits exposed.
Female Flash Gordon...
Plus: Gina Chrisisall

In addition to what Chrisisall wrote...
If you can get past the blonde chick constantly screaming, it's good, cheap, campy entertainment. But she screams. All. The. Time.
Drove me crazy. But I think they toned it down after a while.

It stars Victoria Pratt's abs, what more does a growing lad need?
If you were worried by the genitalia dentata in Double-Meat Palace, then some of the aircraft may concern you -- but if Jean-Paul Gautier makes you smile, you'll love it.
IMHO: best suited to the short format of the earlier episodes.

Sounds a bit like Lexx. I liked Lexx how does it really compare?

Quote:To LEXX?? Sorry, it doesn't compare; it's much more juvinile fun, not so much with the witty. Sheer comic-book nonsense. Think a shorter, sexier, dumber Andromeda.

I had watched most of the episodes when it originally ran and I always liked it.
I bought the DVD set and was pleasantly surprised to see that the "2nd" season, which only ran a few shows were one hour shows, not the regular half hour ones.
I love the episodes...28 total I think....lots of action, hot ladies, some great stories, & bad guys, neat technology, etc...all leading up the what became the "final" episode which was superb...and gives a glimpse of how great it could have been if they hadn't pulled the plug so abruptly.
Not to mention....GINA TORRES !!!....This was HER show....She was the leader of the team...Hel, short for Helen. A few years before Firefly....she's younger and more glittery...I believe she also sang the show's theme song....it'll grow on you!

I have to agree with everyone here...even HK on the screaming thing, even if I did sometimes enjoy that
It was a guilty pleasure show of mine for awhile until I realized I was not the only one that liked it. So, yes, check it out if you get the chance!

I have to agree with, well, everyone.
It starred two great actesses: Gina Torres and Victoria Pratt's abs. They were great together....
Tremendously campy fun. Cheese at its finest. In particular, the opening theme always makes me break out laughing.
Beyond that, if you dust off the layers of stupidity and cheese, there is actually a pretty neat story under it all. Several episodes were moving, and I enjoyed the basic framewok the show was built on. What were the Baileys, who were the Neo-Atlantians, why could some people live above the surface, and how did humanity get into such a horrible (and ridiculous) condition????
