MSN did a feature on cancelled TV. Of all shows rated (goes back about 10 years) Firefly came in at #6 of good T.V. shows cancelled for no good reason except the executives bottom line. See it at

Thanks for the link! Glad to see additional exposure for our show!

The only other shows besides Firefly in their top 10 cancelled list that I remember liking were 'Sports Night' and 'My So Called Life'.

Huh. I own 3 of those box sets, have borrowed 2 others from a coworker and wouldn't mind owning another 2 or 3 (especially News Radio).

Sad. Seems like most of my favorite shows end up on the "gone before their time" pile.

I think it's amusing that even the TV writer called Fridays the kiss of death for shows- Funny how it seems then that Fox (and TV execs in general) tries to premiere all their cool new shows on Fridays- How do you get a job in television if you dont have a clue how TV works? It must go like this:

-"Hi. Fox Network?"
-"Yes. Personnel, can I help you?"
-"Yeah, I have a degree in advanced microbiology, and never watch TV. Do you have any openings?"
-"Why, certainly! How about an executive position in series development?"
-"Perfect, when can I start?"

Interesting, Ben Edlund's "Tick made #10 on the list. Not bad. Maybe Ben should get his own network, since the networks don't seem to get his stuff, yet there is a market for it.

Or maybe Ben should get the Fox network. 5 of the 11 top 10 shows. (there was a tie for second) were from Fox.

Thats a really good site to find info about up coming releases on DVD.

News Radio was suppose to be released earlier this month, but got delayed, but with good reasons.

The release is suppose to have the first and second season.

Its a catch 22 situation. Programmers think they can get people to watch Friday night TV if they put something good there. That is true. They don't get immediate good ratings because people have to find the show and decide to stay home instead of going out. Genre shows need word of mouth, because there is so much bad sci-fi out there. Therefore they cancel the show, and put something cheaper in its place, and scratch their heads why they can't get people to watch.

People don't watch because they know it most likely will be cancelled, and they don't want to get interested. I know I am getting tired of the cancellation crap.
