Morning, all!
Not a math person, so I'll stay out of that. I said my piece on the last thread, and judging by the way it looked this morning, English Comp is not one of my stronger suits after a certain hour.
Now history? Yeah, I am all about history. And drama. And psychology. And a few other things. But not math.
I do have to agree with Mavourneen here....coffee is the answer.
While I do agree that some university degrees are not worth the paper they are printed on, I do have to say that I have three of them. Having said that, I will also go on to state that I did as much personal learning and studying as I did in-class requirements. I have studied and researched things that interest me since I could hold a thought larger than "Want cookie!" in my head for a time. I do not see myself as an expert in any one subject, but I am still a student of everything.
I like the petri dish vs. oyster, JQ.

Oh, I have also always like that quote, JQ...finally had an excuse to use it!

VE, I love the PBS shows. I've seen a few of them. I must have been an astrophysicist in another life...but can't remember any of it. Maybe that's why I like Samantha Carter on SG-1. I have unresolved astrophysicist envy.
And for the record, Tidbit LOVES math. We've had to ban him from doing math at the dinner table. He must have gotten the math gene from my dad, who was a scientist.

History and philosophy were my "fun" subjects, where I learned neat things that may or may not be applicable to the daily life of an EE. English, aside from the reading of classical and modern literatures, was always my worst.
I try to go by the mantra you mentioned in the previous thread, "Learn something new every day". My dad instilled this in me at a young age and most days I do indeed learn something new.

He's still sick. Stayed home from school today, too. He & Dad are having a boy's day at home, which means I will probably come home to pizza boxes on the floor, silly string on the ceiling, and Lord knows what else.
