I am in the Marriot, but that is only across the street (literally) from the Hyatt, so no worries. I stumbled around plenty in my first day last year, and it wasn't an issue.

Hey, I love discussing the inner workings of the mind, be it mine or someone elses, so feel free to fire any ponderables at me that you wish. Perhaps Whims, LA and I can start a thread for our 'secret society' in which we can discuss the subjects that have 'gone sour' elsewhere and anyone who wishes can find us for any type of discussion they would wish. Now we just need a name...

Oh, and the hotels are not booked, but you have to call them and tell them you're going to be at DragonCon.

I didn't know that you could still tall the hotels about D*C rooms, though it does make sense that they would have them as booked until you tell them that is what you are going for. Excellent.

I've been thinking of starting something like myself only I haven't been able to narrow the "content" sufficiently. But I'm headed toward the taboo subjects of religion, politics and philosophy with a decidedly NON-RWED atmosphere. A comfy place to explore ideas not your own. I even have a name for it.

Thanks for the heads up on the hotels. In the "booking" process there's a place for the D*C code but I'm now guessing that is for pricing purposes only. Drat.

RMIG - Okay so I'm a dope. I PM'ed you instead of emailing you. I am guilty of the most grievous crime committed by our students here: I didn't read!! Oh well.

Kelkhil, I am with you 100% on the OSU game. I didn't watch it. I can be spiteful when necessary. The Rose Bowl took it all out of me anyway. Well there's always next year.

Yep yep, I called and booked a quad room last week with no problem at all, even though the website said it was all full. There was much happiness

So what's your idea, JQ? I'm probably down for it; I don't mind talking about any of that stuff. I might get impassioned about it, but I do my best to be respectful (so long as I feel respected, which is generally the case)
The name that went through my head was "The Uncomfortably Honest Society" but I don't know if that sounds too bitter.

Doesn't sound bitter at all. I think it would definitely frighten off the faint of heart, except perhaps to lurk.
I was thinking of calling mine "Sly and the Philosopher's Stone" but I was afraid people might mistake the content...not that there's anything wrong with that.
