Jacket looks great Colonel. Hard to believe how quickly and how well it is all coming together.

No need to memorize ranks Naughtyman since we'll be "in the field" at Dragon Con saluting is unnecessary, that is unless you want to give the purplebelly snipers a pointer on who our officers are out there.

Good point on the snipers Browncoat1, and Tristan, the subdued rank insignia looks great.

NaughtyMan, thanks for the link to the shirts. I'll move that over to the Proboard if you don't make it there!
As for the coat, thank you for that. I am happy that the colors managed to be close enough to work like they did. They were not as hard to apply as I originally thought they would be, either, so that makes me happy!
I will be carrying a sidearm, but that is the first one I came across...and looking at all my options, I may end up going with another one. There are too many choices!
The knife was a gift from my first wife's brother in France. It's a German Solingen steel blade, and I am not sure they can be found in the US...but I have not looked really hard, either...
The choice of knife is up to the individual, though, we decided it could be one of the many "personal touches" for each soldier.

Thank you, Browncoat1! I am happy with the way it is shaping up, too. Now I am just trying to get enough cloth on-hand to start building all the pieces for everyone. Should be another week or so...

I've read a nasty rumor on the SEBC message board that some folk might try to start a Purplebelly Regiment. That's a mighty ballsy move, ya ask me.

Thanks for the info, Boomer! It would actually be kinda shiny to see purplebellies marching, too! They would not be as "welcome" as we would be, but it would be impressive nonetheless! I do hope they were at least partially serious about it!
And yes, I get the armor reference...thought that was neat to see the recycling.

So, it looks like I'm going to be down in the Old Dominion for a couple of months to take care of some business.Just wondering if you Virginia folk were planning any shindigs in the near future.It would be grand to meet up with Browncoats down there!

I just realized that you are the first person to ever respond to a post of mine on this board.It was in the days(about a year and a half ago)when my computer skills were somewhat more crappy than they are now.Anyway to make a long story short I think you gave me directions to an event... Naughtyman, things have been a bit slow for our local browncoat chapter as we are all still recovering from the holidays. We did get together a couple of weeks before Christmas, and most of us got together at a party on New Year's Eve. We don't have any plans right this moment, but that is easily remedied.

Where in Virginia are you going to be & when will you be here?
