Don't know how many are fans of the show, but I just started watching. Julie Benz (Darla) plays a guidance counselor in the first couple of episodes. Forget murderous vampire; this is her scariest role.

I remember hearing somewhere that Steven Spielberg was an Angel fan, and cast Julie Benz in Roswell because he liked her work in Angel.

didn't roswell start before angel? I remember watching it when I was at school and only slightly knowing her from early buffy. then when darla started to become more of a character it was hard (at first) not to think of her as the annoying squeaky voiced woman from roswell

but that could have been down to scheduling in the UK, maybe we got roswell quite quickly...

Roswell and Angel started the same year (1999).

Steven Spielberg didn't have anything to do with Roswell. He cast Julie in the miniseries "Taken" because he liked her work in Angel. But they're both about aliens so that's slose enough!

The weird thing about Taken was that Adam Kaufmann (Parker on Buffy) was a good guy and was Julie Benz's grandson...

Right, sorry I was mistaken. It was Taken that I heard Spielberg cast Benz in. I got the shows mixed up.
