For me I started watching it when it first ran on Fox. Like others I missed episodes and cussed very loudly. Even tho it wasn't run in order I was still hooked at the first show. Hooked to the point Friday nights were off limits to anything and everything while Firefly was on. I was quite upset ( read understatement of the century ) when it just " disappeared " . I was hoping it was just a few episodes filmed and would be picked up in the next season as a full season . No luck.
It eventually fell to the wayside but mentioned as a hella good show frequently to my sci fi loving buddys. I didn't have a pc then so I missed the Browncoat uprising at the time.
When the movie came out my buddy told me it was based on an " old " sci fi show that was on tv but since it was years since I had seen it 2 + 2 was not equaling 4. Until........ I found the movie DVD in Walmart. Once I read the back 2 + 2 finally equaled 4 and I was torqued yet again that I missed it on the big screen. I have made up for it by watching it damn near weekly since I got it tho.
It wasn't until I was last minute X-mas shopping that I found 1 lonely box set on the bottom shelf. Being x-mas and all, I had shopped for everyone but myself so off to the register I went with a box set of the BEST DAMN SCI FI SHOW EVER !!!!! Best thing anyone has ever gotten me. I've watched it 5 times or more since x-mas eve and I keep finding things I didn't catch in earlier viewings.
I've learned 2 things from Firefly :
1) FOX sucks
2) FIREFLY IS THE BEST DAMN SCI FI SHOW EVER
When is the next uprising? I think I need to dryclean this coat you gave me before I assualt anything.IS THAT BLOOD????

Welcome aboard. Welcome Home. Now.... read the unfilmed script for "Dead or Alive": http://www.fireflyfans.net/feature.asp?f=45

If you like Firefly, look for Tim Minear's (out of gas, etc) new show "Drive" with Nathan Fillion (Capt. Reynolds)
coming to FOX this Spring.

I remember that when it "disappeared" as you put it, my FOX station here decided to play games with the Browncoats heads and started playing reruns at spreatic points--once I stayed up until 2AM in hopes of a new episode only to see "Train Job" again. I have a special connection with that episode for that reason. Any special episode for you?

Welcome to the site and to the browncoat ranks BryonsBoas! Glad to have you here with us. Pull up some virtual space and make yourself right at home.
Be sure to spread the word and introduce the show to everyone that you know. The more people that become fans, the better our odds of getting some sort of continuation of the series.
Take care and keep flyin'!

It's not my story, it's my recruitment story. A dear friend was having radiation treatment. I handed over my loaner set. He says that he felt like 4 pounds of poo in a 2 pound bag. All he could do was lie there and watch TV.
But it was Firefly so it was all, "Look at that shot! What an amazing line! I can't believe they did that! This is the greatest television ever! I'm watching another episode."
His message was, "Why has this been kept from me until now?"
Even as sick as he was, Firefly gave him hope and happiness.

I know you were askin' BryB what his fav. episode was but.... Mine is most definately Out Of Gas. There is nothin' sexier than a hero(or heroine) who can take the pain and still summon up the wrath of the righteous long enough to get it done! Plus I'm a complicated gal, and it was a complicated episode, so we fit ... husband snickers in the background!
