The Ford administration is the first administration that I can remember, but I was so young then that it really was just background noise to Sid and Marty Krofft. Popularly Ford was one of those presidents that got the raw end of the deal, I think. Nestled in-between Nixon and Carter, he is has largely been forgotten or condemned by association. The history channel and News channels are running Ford Specials that are bringing to light a man that history seems to have forgotten. It is sad that he had to die before we realized this.

He was the last living member of the Warren Commission. Although I never bought into the whole JFK conspiracy nonsense, many people do, including my cousin and my brother who are diehard conspiracy theorists. I’m sure that Ford has already said all he could say on the topic, but it somehow seems sad that now there is really no one left with the authority to say, “I was there Mr. Stone, and that’s crap.” Not that anyone would, necessarily. But, you what I mean.
