Forget fox i am starting to hate the WB it didn't show any loyalty to Buffy there would have bee nothing after Buffy's sacrificed herself for Dawn if UPN hadn't to paraphrase Joss Whedon "when WB dumped us UPN married us" and now it let's go of angel too darn them all to heck. So are the ratings that bad? Would it be worth it for UPN to adopt Angel? Is there a petition to sign?

I think it would be a good move for UPN to acquire the rights to Angel, seeing the high amount of good that Buffy did for them. The shows on UPN aren't exactly high caliber, and they could use another good show like Angel.
But if your hand touches metal, I swear by my pretty floral bonnet, I will end you.

Well i do like Girlfriends and Half and Half but yeah there other programs are weak. If they have Enterprise on that must mean they have a sci-fi fan base so wouldn't they be interested in BUffy's sucessor?

Too true other than a few select show's UPN's lineup is weak. But does anyone know if a show with Angel's ratings (never as big as buffy's despites it's being a much higher caliber show) would be a boon to the network?

First of all, if UPN hadn't picked up BtVS, FOX would have. But UPN offered more money. The WB never cancelled BtVS, they just held off (too late) on paying what Twentieth Century Fox wanted, until the point when the show became fair game for all networks to pick up. The WB has been bitter about losing BtVS ever since.
"Angel's" ratings aren't bad, they are OK. They ratings are actually significantly up this season. But it's a very expensive program. If UPN were to pick up "Angel," they wouldn't make much of a profit. UPN actually lost money on BtVS, but they took the risk because they hoped to attract new viewers to their network. There is a small chance that UPN will pick up "Angel," but it isn't looking too good.

Well, here's to seeing Joss in a movie career. I'm thinking he'll make the leap with alacrity and enjoy the freedom of doing it without some WB, UPN, wonk coming along every few years (or months in this case) and saying 'oh, and you're fired'.
Dear wonks, if your reading this I'd like to pass along a mere opinion regarding your treatment of Joss and his crew ...

If you go to PetitionOline.com and search for Angel, there is a petition somewhere for UPN to pick up Angel. Good luck finding it though, there are a lot of petitions in there!

I'm so damned tired of people saying "but it's an expensive show". It's not. It's been said many times that they do a lot with little. It's not an expensive show. There's only one reason why Angel was cancelled. The WB is putting together a new vampire show and they didn't want to have two of them on their network. It'll probably be a [flying goat testicles] and get cancelled after five episodes, but we'll still be deprived of our Whedon fix. That's the truth. All these other reasons simply aren't true.
