Most of the ones I thought of were mentioned already. There's also Lexx, Farscape (his little earth shuttle was the farscape 1),Event Horizon, in anime there's Sol Bianca. Was Cowboy Bebop the name of the ship in that series?
I can't keep track of her when she's not incorporeally possessing a spaceship. Don't look at me.

Good one. Was toying with it, but wasn't entirely sure. But I guess it works.
However, if we include This Island Earth, we oughta also include other Sci-fi shows/movies named after planets...

It might not be transportation so much as the primary setting. As a previous post-er said, it's an easy identifier for a new TV series. Sci fi shows tend to be set on space-going vessels, so they get named after the ship. Non-sci fi examples of settings-as-names would include "ER" and "Coronation Street".
I gotta say, if you're going to go with this trend, I much prefer "Firefly" over, say, "Trans U" (the Reaver ship in the pilot) :)
