You've not only created a great fansite and community for all of us fans but you've managed to survive being slashdotted. That alone should get you a Medal of Honor. 
I enjoy coming here and conversing with the rest of the Firefly fans. Who needs the official site when you've got this? Unless of course this site is a Fox plant. 
On behalf of Tieka and myself I'd like to thank you for all of the hard work you've done so far.

Agreed.
I'm actually impressed at how well Haken is handling the whole "Fox plant" situation. If it were me, I'd be horribly offended... especially because he's put so much work into the site.
Most slashdotters are elitest, pretentious asses who value their opinions far to heavily... and that is what makes them so damn offensive.

You know, I gave Haken advance warning, but he didn't seem to care. And why should he? His site scales. Not his problem if most sites do not.
What really amuses me is all the slashdotters who just can't believe this site isn't the product of a whole team of Fox webmonkeys.
As for the "plant" issue: I stand accused too. And all I can say to that is JOSH, WHERE'S MY CHECK???!!!

I've never heard of Slashdot, or whatever, but it sounds evil. Is it one of those sites where people bitch about everyone else to make themselves feel like lesser losers than they really are?

Well, that is an answer, but probaly not quite what they wanted to know. Slashdot is a forum for news and commentary for the internet and computer science community. Okay, it's a hangout for geeks and nerds.
You can find the site at http://slashdot.org Since there are a lot of people that read the posts there, any site that gets mentioned may be slashdotted This means that a few zillion geeks, nerds and wannabe's check out the mentioned site. Sometimes the massive numbers of visitors in a short period of time will actually crash a server and the site goes down. So, a site that is down or really slow due to heavy traffic, is called slashdotted. Oh yeah, one more: slashdotting is the act of posting at Slashdot.
There, that should explain all of Slashdot. Of course if you check out the site, you'll find out it is a LOT more complicated than this.

Thanx. I dunno about visiting the site though... I may be a nerd, but I'm a introverted nerd that doesn't like crowds. I site with lots and lots of people nerdier than me would be intimidating.
