Hi all. Was flicking through the web, and I note that only the first two of Virgin's proposed suborbital vehicles have been named. Should we pressurise Virgin to name the third vehicle, Firefly?
Any thoughts? It worked for one of the space shuttles, after all!

What a great idea, Richard Branson loves a bit of publicity and so do Browncoats.
Have you posted it on the prospero board?

I had this idea a while back but wasn't sure what to do (ie: who to send it too, etc.)
Okay, theres both pros and cons to The VSS "Serenity"
Pro's:
Hands up who would love to go up in Serenity?
The publisity for just one name would be HUGE (like i said who wouldn't want to say "I've been up in Serenity") and i think Sir Richard Branson could see that.
Con's:
Universal and Fox TV. Okay, i'm not sure who owns what fully, but both companies would properly want a major cut in the money, even with the costs of launching a rocket into space
oh and pro/con:
"This is the captain speaking, we might experience some slight turbulence... and then explode..."
Hopefully other, more intelletural people might think of more reasons for the first Serenity spacecraft...

EXPLODE!!! I don't wanna explode..."

Ok name it Serenity Valley or Alliance just don't name it with a C like Challenger and Columbia.
I don't kill santas. I do.
"Battle of Serenity, Mal. Besides Zoe here, how many-" "I'm talkin at you! How many men in your platoon came out of their alive".

I dunno about this, Serenity is a word in its own right. A quick Google search found two other ships named Serenity: a cruise liner ( http://www.7blueseas.com/cruiselines/ship.asp?id=83) and a tall ship ( http://philadelphia.about.com/library/gallery/bltallships12.htm). Now if he changed the design of the ship, well... I think that would be worth the lawsuit.
