I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but not only have we gone to The Moon, but we're actually still there. No Cosmonauts nor Astronauts were harmed during the making of this film...

I hate to thunk it, but robots will probably be the only lifeform able to survive the nuclear gamma and x-radiation on The Moon. Perhaps the Moon Robot Army will someday attack and overthrow humans on Earth, ie Battlestar Galactica. Instead of Cylons, Moonons.

As far as blue sky on mars, why not? The earth’s blue sky is caused by Rayleigh Scatting, and there’s no reason to believe that the same laws of physics don’t also apply on Mars. Two problems: first, the Martian atmosphere is full of fine iron oxide dust and properly color corrected images from Mars, often show the atmosphere to be a butterscotch color (yellowish) because of this dust. Second, cameras used on Mars landings are digital and digital cameras must be calibrated and their images processed. Some of the images from Mars, particularly the early ones, are poorly calibrated and render bad results. These are the ones that show the Martian sky as red. No, the Martian sky is not really red; that was a result of bad calibration or image processing. But there are properly color corrected images that show the Martian sky as blue, and in fact, the sky should be blue. Typically the Martian sky is a lighter blue then earth’s at the zenith (overhead), but very yellowish near the horizon (where the dust is thickest.) At certain times or regions when or where the dust is very, very fine or very low in concentration the Martian sky appears blue all over, just like the earth’s.

The actual exhaust color of the hydrazine fuel used on the LEM was RED, not blue, as faked in Tom Hanks' latest Apollo miniseries funded by NASA. It's a slightly different mixture than the shuttle, which looks whitish on video. Do a google serch for official photos of the testfirings on Earth of the LEM engines. You won't find them... Bill Kaysing ran the engineering library for Rocketdyne during Apollo, and saw the LEM engines with red exhaust on Earth, kicking boulders at high velocity. If it's such an important part of human history, why is it censored from the history books?
Hey bonehead, are you blind, stupid, or a disinfo agent? NASA's own photos and videos show BOTH blue sky and red sky on "Mars", ON THE SAME DAY AT THE SAME EXACT TIME. That means they're faking it, with the "mars Rover" still roving on Earth, probably the Antarctica desert (no snow), or Utah, where the Mars Habitat Simulators are officially located.

For all of the money we are spending, NASA should NOT be talking about going to the Moon - We did that 50 years ago. They should be focused on the much bigger things we are doing, including Mars (of which the Moon is a part), Defense and Science!

I think this dates back to the 'Vision' after the loss of the Shuttle, Vision for Space Exploration and Constellation program. There could be a way to explain the confusing tweet ....

On April 1, 1992 Dan Goldin became NASA Administrator, and during his tenure near-term human exploration beyond Earth orbit was abandoned, and the "faster, better, cheaper" strategy was applied to space science robotic exploration. The Vision of Bush Jnr after another Shuttle Disaster this new vision may have also failed. Who actually believed NASA would make it back to the Moon and onto landing men on Mars by 2019 anyway?
The other older idea, Mars Direct is a proposal for a human mission to Mars which purports to be both cost-effective and possible with current technology. It was originally detailed in a research paper by Martin Marietta engineers Robert Zubrin and David Baker in 1990, and later expanded upon in Zubrin's 1996 book The Case for Mars. It now serves as a staple of Zubrin's speaking engagements and general advocacy as head of the Mars Society, an organization devoted to the colonization of Mars. Part of Zubrins vision continues in a group called the Mars Society, the purpose of the Mars Society is to encourage the human exploration and settlement of the Red Planet. Who knows what political vision Trump will put forward for NASA he seems to be unpreditable even at the best of times.

I realize that Twitter limits your posts to a finite amount of words, and I also realize that your average American these days has the attention span of a gnat.
Maybe Trump meant all of that when he made that confusing post. Maybe he didn't.
If he did though, he's got to do better than that going forward with his tweets. That tweet is low hanging fruit that is virtually indefensible because of how stupid it looks. With the media hounding him for everything he says and does, I would recommend either making what he was really saying more clear or simply not tweeting about the subject at all.
I'd also advise that he never use parenthesis in his tweets again either.
