A New Person's Rant You've All Probably Heard Before.

Hi y'all.
I learned about Firefly a week ago. A friend talked about it in passing. I got the DVD, and watched it, beginning, to end in one night. I got up the next morning and watched it again. I watched the extras, and then watched all 14 episodes again.
Then I watched the movie, watched the special features, then watched it again.
I've spent the last couple days reading websites, news posts about the RPG, about the MMO, speculation and rumors and such about a season II, and i've been reading all your great dialogues, while listening to the soundtrack, mostly.
I guess the point i want to make is this, one week ago i didn't know about this show. Now i'm in love, and on a mission to know everything i can about the universe, the characters, the missing pieces.
Just as passionate is the anger I have for the media giants, for the capitalist whirlwind that only accepted Firefly as a ploy to make money, and when the money wasn't what they wanted, cancelled it. I'm angry, but not necessarily because of the crooked system that allows them to do this, but because I, now, need to find out what happens.
Maybe its just because I believe so strongly in the message Joss Whedon is trying to tell us (perhaps i'll post more on that, if y'all don't tell me to shut up cause you've heard this all before), maybe its purely because i want the great entertainment, but I think something in me just needs to know what happens next. By creating a world that i feel i could sincerely belong to, a world so realistically unreal, and yet so open, Joss has me begging to wake up in it. I know that won't happen, but if I can't have it, I'll join whatever rank and file of Browncoats I need to to convince whoever I need to: I need this show.
I'll stop ranting the rant y'all have heard before...I just wanted you to know that I'm here, I believe in what you all are talking about, and I want to help out in whatever way I can. I'm not free till they give me my sky back.

I can't speak for everybody here, but everytime a new person joins our ranks and tells the same tale as you have it makes me feel like there is still hope for the verse.
We are slowly taking over the world, one person at a time. Welcome aboard.

Well put! Had a kinda poetry to it.
The man ain't wrong, either. I recall a matter of "Total Evidence" from philosophy (Evidence E only confirms, or disconfirms, hypothesis H relative to some background knowledge K). Something like:
"One brown coat disproves that all people are purple bellies."
Or some such. :) So, keep flyin', new dude!
