Actually, the ratings were up %36 in total viewership. Which I found really interesting.

This must be one expensive show to run. Or somebody must not like Joss very much. I'm beginning to think there's a conspiracy Against Good TV.

As sad as I am to say good bye to Angel and the whole Joss Whedon universe, cant say Im surprised. I was hoping for maybe one more season, but I had a feeling this was the end.
I guess the only thing left to do is give the show a nice round of applause and then buy the DVD's coming out.
Good bye Angel, I shall miss you very much!

A conspiracy against good TV? What could pssibly give you that idea? Oh wait, maybe it's teh fact that shows like "The Simple Life" get renewed, while shows like Angel get cancelled. I swear, if I see one more
reality show on TV, im gonna quit watching.
Now, when it was announced that Buffy was on it's last season, I was disappointed. But after looking back at the last two seasons, I could tell that it was time for the show to come to an end. To me, seasons 6 and 7 were two of the weakest seasons of the entire show. At least it went out on a fairly high note, and didn't try to prolong a life that wasn't there anymore.
But to me, Angel is the exact opposite. So far, season 5 is one of the BEST seasons I've ever seen! They've just entered this whole new arc with the crew taking over Wolfram & Hart, and I don't really see that as being a storyline you can sum up in the nine episodes that are remaining. Even though I'm sure Joss is going to do a great job of wrapping things up for us at the end, I'm sure there are still going to be SO many questions left unanswered and possibilities left unexplored, that I'm going to be left with a feeling of "what if?" And I don't think even a "special movie" down the line could help that feeling. I just hope that we are not left without a Joss Whedon created TV series for very long.
And before I sign off, I noticed that someone had posted a link to a petition to save the series. I came across another petition similar while checking the WB message boards, and to my knowledge, this one is the first and original petition started to save the show. I urge you all to sign it as well. Currently, it has over 28 thousand signatures. Maybe, just MAYBE, with the combined forces of all these petitions out there something can be done. As much as I doubt this to be ture, its better than doing nothing at all.

What I want to know is, why do these people hate Joss so much? They take away his INCREDIBLE shows, and replace them with tripe (typically, don't know whats replacing Angel yet).

I may be mistaken, but Buffy the Vampire Slayer had pretty much ran its course and the cast were ready to move onto other things. Joss wanted that show to end while it was still considered popular. I read earlier today that he's a bit ticked off with what has happened to Angel.
"They cancelled my friggin' show!" Joss Whedon after learning that WB has cancelled Angel.

Wasn't refering to Buffy (sorry if I wasn't clear), but to his two other shows: Angel and of course, Firefly. After Buffy left the air I honestly have NO idea what they put on, and I honestly don't care. Most of TV is a wasteland as far as I'm concerned. A wasteland with a few oases scattered about, here and there.
Ah well, here's to hoping that the FF movie kickstarts a new series!
