I've gotta delurk to pay my respects as well. Even though this hasn't been my favorite season, Angel will be sorely missed (and next year's schedule will be bleak!)

Don't know about anyone else, but after Friday, December 13, 2002 and Friday, February 13, 2004, I'm not so sure 'Friday the 13th' is an old wives' tale.

Better days are coming!!!

What I want to know is, why do these people hate Joss so much? They take away his INCREDIBLE shows, and replace them with tripe (typically, don't know whats replacing Angel yet).

Oh I'm sure they will find some ridiculous "reality" show to replace it with. That or the show that they cancelled Angel for in the first place, John Wells Dark Shadows.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Yeah, the Dark Shadows the WB promised could coexist with Angel. Lyin' bastards.

Bastards. Why the f*ck would they cancel such an outstanding program? I mean, I know their goal is to make money...but for God's sake, don't these sons of bitches have souls?

I just don't understand.

Ah hey, but no one posted the good news.

"Like some of the great series that are leaving the air this year, including 'Frasier' and 'Friends,' the cast, crew, writers and producers of 'Angel' deserve to be able to wrap up the series in a way befitting a classic television series, and that is why we went to Joss to let him know that this would be the last year of the series on The WB," the network says in a statement. "We have discussed continuing the Angel legacy with special movie events next year, which is still on the table. "

I'd like to believe the whole "special movie" thing, but the WB has said that before when cancelling series, most notably with 'Popular.' (I think there may have been another example but my mind is currently drawing a blank).

I can't help but wonder if its a way to calm the fans down.

BTW; did anyone happen to catch what Fox is currently showing Fridays at 8pm?
The Great American Celebrity Spelling Bee.

Every year there are fewer and fewer reasons to watch tv.

Keep in mind a lot of reasons why shows get cancelled after a certain amount of seasons (beyond ratings)...money. Particularly, license fees that the network has to pay for each episode and of course, renegotiating salaries of producers and stars. Usually after five seasons, it's hard to keep the show going in today's TV world. You won't find many programs (especially hits) go past seven. Five is the time to re-up everything. Angel is already in syndication, so there wasn't a need for more episodes.

I hate these damn tv people. good show after good show gets cancelled for something dumb...or another good show that they will soon cancel. I hate them so much.

But if Adam Baldwin ends up being the final
showdown for Angel, that would be kind of
the best possible way to end things.
Buffy vs Nathan, and then Angel vs Gina Torres,
then Angel vs ADAM BALDWIN!

heh.
