Would you rather he had hit her? Or pistol-whipped her and kicked her in the ribs while she cowered on the floor, bleeding from the face? No, of course not. I thought, from a writing stand-point, that it was refreshingly clever. It made me afraid of him and loathe him (yea, writers) and I was one of those sitting there saying "Hey, that's assistant district attorney Paul Robinette from Law&Order." Early was able to gain control of the ship and its crew with a minimum of violence or even exertion. Someone made the point that few other threats would scare Kaylee as much and I agree.

It was completely over the top and unnessecary. That's Early for ya.

I do that all the time when I'm working with my goats. I've seen lots of vets and a number of people health professionals do it. The bit you bite on it just the plastic cover for the needle. God knows you wouldn't want to put a naked needle in your mouth. It wouldn't be the kind 18 gauge hole you'd want in your tongue.

Still don't get it...how come they have the technology to transport real organs but not "fake" ones. If the fake ones are good enough to work (albeit more rapidly and strangly then normals ones), why can't they be transported? And if it's a question of legality (i've alrady mentioned this, sorry just trying to tie it all together)Tracy managed to ship HIMSELF, a large body, through the mail with out anybody noticing (not the "real" alaince anyway), so why couldn't they ship a few organs? On that note, if they can't go through the mail, why couldn't they get a "private shipping company" (ie, someone like mal and crew) to smuggle them frome point A to point B.

it also makes even less sense when you thnk that the organs are so delicate they can only be transported in a human body, but then the human body is druged to a state of near death for the journey, so you may as well keep them in a blood filled sack
on the Mal hitting saphron thing, would it even be considered offensive at all if he had hit a guy that had lied and screwed over his crew? he's done far worse to guys for far less. I think the show is trying to show that the sexes are now completely equal on all levels without coming right out and saying it and that includes the use of violence

This is back on the problems with "The Message," I was watching it least night and thought of an interesting question.
Why couldn't Tracy just mail himeself to his parents?
That would save some trouble would't it? If he's worried about them burring him, then on is little MP3 recorder thing he could have said, "hey, I'm not really dead. Just wait and I'll wake up." or if he was afriad that the bad guys might get a hold of his body and hear that he wasn't realy dead he could say, "Hey mom and dad, i changed my religion while i was out here in the black, respect it by holding a three day wake for me." or something.

Tracey did the drugging up, not the organ smugglers. And I don't know if you'd call them "delicate". Certainly they are able to take more bullets than mine are.

If he was out for revenge, he wouldn't have chatted her up. Probably just shooting her when she drew the gun would have been best. It still seemed like the perfect set up to knock her out to me.
