I thought Atherton's compliment was rather strange. "I find that I admire you more." This seems lame to me. So when Inara told Mal at the end of the episode that she was not going to stay with Atherton, I was not surprised. I think she was angry with Mal and threw Atherton in his face. These two are always doing that to each other.
I just thought how this scene ends. They are drinking wine from Kaylee's interengine fermentation process. So Inara finally did get her wine.
