And yes, this is very normal behavior...pretty soon you'll wonder why other horribly crappy movies/shows are made and they cancelled Firefly. And then there's always the urge to go storm Fox's offices with torches and pitchforks too....

Hey Harold95,
I'm also a newbie. Was a Buffy buff. Nathan played a bad-ass preacher in several Buffy episodes and I heard Joss talking about him in the commentary. I had watched Serenity this summer and liked it but didn't discover Firefly until I heard Joss' comments.
I into my 3rd time through and have been sharing Serenity with my friends (bought a second copy to share).
These Browncoats have been working long and hard to keep Serenity flying. You'll enjoy hanging out with them because we all share the love of the 'verse and her folks.
As far why it was cancelled - there's certainly no accounting for taste or good sense.

Check out the favorite scene/ favorite quote or subtle bits threads ( can't remember the exact names, but they're in the TOP 100, or will come back.). Then watch the eps again, see how many nifties are new on the second pass...

Hey Harold, you are most definitely not alone, in what you think or what you do! FloralBunny will be able to tell you exactly how many other Browncoats are on this site (and it is only one of many such sites) but it is well over 25,000 and going up every day!

how it came to be.....
my mom had given me serenety. i tossed it in the stack of dvd's i have and never looked at it.
i missread the title and thought it said "serendipity" and thinking it was a chick flick (no offence!) i never got around to watching it, till last week whe i was having a rough night and wanted to watch something NEW.
i popped in the dvd and was stuck to the screan, glad i had finally corrected that mistake!
then in watching joss's commentaries and opening dialogue, i realized that this movie had something to go with firefly.
so i got me the whole season dvd's and last night i watched the last one, #4. although i still have all the extras to watch, and seeing as how i have only seen disc 4 one time, i think i have to watch it many more times !
an absolutely amazing show and movie....and to the person that asked, yes i saw the movie FIRST.
kinda a wierd way to go about it, but seeing the movie got me hooked, and when i realized there was more......
i went for it!

coming into the 'verse from the movie is pretty common (at least that was my way in!) and seeing as the fanbase is growing daily with guys like me and you, you just have to wonder how the series would have done if it had come after a movie like Stargate etc... ah, but to dream eh?...
