I'm looking forward to Flan II, but after trying to pull up the booster events site with no luck:

I found this on wheadonesque:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Boosters is experiencing financial difficulties. We are doing everything in our power to facilitate Flan 2, but at this point, it is uncertain that we will be able to obtain financing in time for the event. We will update you daily in the Flan 2 forum. Anyone with airline tickets who might want to cancel, will need to do so immediately. If we are unable to obtain the needed financing by Friday, Dec. 1st, the event will be cancelled.
YIKES!!! Sorry if this is a repost, I didn't see it anywhere.

I still want to come. Even if we all hang out and watch DVD's. Nearly 5 decades and I finally take the leap to attend a fan convention....I just do not want to give up on this.
Don't know how I can help (I'm in Maine), but just ask.
I'm off the rest of the week and if I can make phone calls or e-mail let me know.
I am also willing to contribute funds, if we can entice Nathan, Adam or any BDH willing to still come.
Perhaps someone can contact him and any other BDH (even Sean Maher and Summer Glau) who may still be interested in attending?
Check Nathan's MySpace or agent?
Respectfully,
History

If you can outright help with alternative plans, the SoCal Browncoats group on Yahoo! has a database which, if you join the group, you can add yourself to.
http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/socalbrowncoats/
It's my understanding that in the event of definite Flan cancellation, there are efforts being made regarding contacting the BDHs about any alternative possibilities.
Other than that, see the other two FFF.net threads linked a few posts above this one.

We don't really have much we can update you with this evening other than to say we are pursuing every avenue available to make this work. We know you all are anxious and upset, but we are unable to answer individual emails and calls at this time. We are using all our energy to try to obtain funding. We will update again tomorrow.

And thank you (praise them with great praise!) to the SoCal and your fellow Browncoats for preparing a hospitable welcome. IN the space of mere hours you have turned despair back into delightful anticipation.
For those closely following the drama closely (as I am--this being my first fan convention ever, after near 5 decades of life), the Southern California Browncoats have rallied the troops and are already organizing a "Back-up Bash", aka "Flan B". If Flan 2 is cancelled, there will be a gathering of Browncoats. Perhaps just an international Shindig, or perhaps something more: BDH guests, vendors, et al. [Hell, I'd go if we just watched DVD's or even sat around making Firefly/Seerenity shadow puppet theater].
The downright hospitality and neigborliness is truly awe-inspiring. And, checking the various mesage boards (including Fireflyfans.net), this has been joyously greeted and gratefully received.
AN essential part of being a Browncoat, imho, is dogged determination, infatigeable hope, and picking-yourself-up-by-your-own-bootstrap's action.
Booster Events may be going into the red, but we Browncoats are still dedicated to go, well...out into the Black.
I look forward to seeing everyone there.
Respectfully,
Bob
