I wish we could have more! I was in a state of shock when Objects in Space just ended and that was it! I don’t think you have to be a Sci Fi fan to be a fan of this show in particular because its different from most Sci Fi shows.

Mal: What does that make us?
Zoe: Big Damn Heroes Sir!
Mal: Ain’t we just!

Welcome TRACYLANE, glad to have you onbooard.

It's funny but I was watching the pilot eps last night (for the 20th time) and my younger son was in the room cleaning his paintball equipment. He is not a big si/fi fan although he's watched a few eps with me. I find it interesting that he was watching and laughing at a show he's seen a couple of times himself. Just goes to show you how well writter and well acted the show was.

Anyhoo, enjoy the forum. Post all you want and first chance that you get go by the galley and grab a bottle of mudders milk....cheers.

Z

Welcome to the 'Verse, TL. Please start voting for Firefly today, now even. Don't wait till Dec 1. And vote repeatedly from many different computers, if possible.

I aim to misbehave!

I am not a HUGE Si-Fi fan

Welcome to our shiny site TracyLane!!!
I always think it's intereting how there are a lot of people here who weren't really sci-fi fans before they saw Firefly. I know I had never really enjoyed a sci-fi enough for it to become an obsession, but that's exactly what happened with Firefly! Anyway, hope to see you around here more!

Well, I was asked as to what I thought of the movie. I loved the show more...but then I think a lot has to do with the fact that I was meeting such interesting people for the first time and becoming completely obsessed with the show so that has something to do with it. I think I should have waited awhile to watch the show after the series. However, when dealing with obsession, it is easy to say that something came in second...the movie was AWESOME.

I was totally prepared to see some of the main charries die. I, too, had little hope of any of them making it out alive. I know this isn't the popular vote, but I did expect more from the movie. I am sure Joss had to work within budget constraints and that stopped him from making it longer, but I would have like to have seen more of the crew. I think it was more not wanting it to end. (Could he have actually put enough into the movie to satisfy his fans?)

As far a Joss is concerned...yes I am a long time fan of his. I respect his writing ability and appreciate that there is some intellect behind his comedy. That is so rare. We watch the "stupid" box, but Joss redefines that. You actually have to have brain waves to enjoy what he writes. Perhaps that is why they keep cancelling his shows?

BTW has anyone caught that Summer Glau is currently on "The Unit"? I caught it when I watched the show last night. (I have DVR and couldn't possibly watch anything other than Firefly so now have to get caught up.) I saw her name come across the screen and just smiled. She will always be River to me.

I know how you feel - I saw the movie first and then picked up the DVDs, and limited myself to one episode a night, and near the end of the DVDs, I was trying to find a reason to delay watching OiS, because I knew there was no more after that...and then I watched Done the Impossible and had to laugh when the two teenagers said the same thing
