Ahhh, I thank drinks for inspiration... and they tend to thank me too. In fact that drink in that pic over at the pub thanked me a bit too much. 
Trist, be worried not (ok, I just had a Yoda moment), kilts are very welcome. There should be more of them in this world! Believe me when I saw Nathan Fillion in one... *faints* You did the Renn. Fests? I mean I shouldn't really be surprised because you look like you belong in that time, but that is really awesome! 
I frequent the Renn. Fests every year in upstate NY. They are so much fun!

Roxy, I never made it up to NY. I was a producer/actor/choreographer for about four years for faires in Alabama, Louisiana (once, actually), and for a festival over in Savannah (I never made that one, but the group did). And of course, there are tons of photos...I might scan a few, but I think I may end up crashing the site if I keep this up. 
And thank you for the kilt comment. I love wearing them, I just usually have a shirt on.
Yeah, that drink looks like it was trouble!

The Bushmaster Carbon 15 Type 97S.
The Upper and Lower Receivers are molded of state of the art Carbon Fiber 15 material that offers incredible durability, strength and ultra-light weight. The pistol’s stainless steel, match grade barrel is chambered for the 5.56 NATO cartridge and readily accepts the .223 Remington cartridge as well.
The P97S Upper Receiver features a full length anodized aluminum Picatinny rail that includes integral front and rear iron sights. The windage adjustable rear sight is a combination ghost ring and precision aperture flip-up. The square post front sights offers elevation adjustments for fine zeroing. The Picatinny rail allows the option of mounting a wide variety of auxiliary sighting systems such as long eye relief and standard scopes, red dot, holographic, or laser sights. A similar rail extends the full length of the bottom of the hand guard allowing for the attachment of flashlights and accessories.
Function controls on the Type 97S are in the familiar AR15 layout, and for additional safety, the safety selector lever markings are color coded on both sides of the lower receiver to quickly determine the firing status of the pistol. An ergonomically designed Hogue Overmolded pistol grip is fitted for comfort and a chrome plated bolt bolt carrier is used for long wear and easy cleaning.
Caliber: 5.56mm or .223 Rem.
Magazine Capacity: 30 Rounds (accepts all M16/AR15 type)
Overall Length - Pistol: 20" [50.8 cm]
Barrel Length: 7.25" [18.42 cm]
Rifling: 1 turn in 9" [22.8 cm] R.H. twist / 6 grooves & lands
Weight w/o magazine - Pistol: 58.5 oz. (3.65 lbs.) [1.66 kg]
Weight of empty magazine: .25 lbs. [.11 kg]
Weight of loaded magazine1.0 lbs. [.45 kg]
Operation: Gas Operated
Mode of Operation: Semi-Automatic
Now put an EoTech HWS 552 on that thing, then you've got something you can clear a house with.
I still have the one I used in Iraq, and it is great at what it does...

That's the Holographic sight, right? I've never used one but I've heard nothign but good things about them. Might have to look into picking one up.
