I've been playing guitar for almost a year now. I have a Fender DG 14S acoustic, but it's left-handed since I am. Everyone said to learn right-handed, but it just felt too weird, so the lefty thing kinda limits my guitar purchasing options. I don't know when I'll be going electric (I figure if Dylan did, I should eventually too!) since I'd like to spend some decent money...money I don't have now. I can't decide if I should get an Epi Les Paul or go all out and get a Gibson. We'll see what kind of job I get after graduating...
The guitar isn't my first foray into music, however, as I played piano for 8 years. I'm glad my parents made me do it, it's really helped in all sorts of ways, especially the music theory.

Yay we have another person posting on the thread! Oh and I feel your pain jp, I say wait a bit and get the Gibson it'll probably be worth it in the long run. Good luck

Yeah, that's what I figure...it's tough though with the desire for instant guitar gratification. Guess I'll start saving for the $2200 price tag...

I can whistle & hum theme's & would like to play the drums,not sure if that counts.Well anyway I mostly like soundtracks over bands my favorite soundtracks are Serenity,then Wing Commander(most buy),then Firefly.If I had to pick bands then my favorite is Duran Duran(I'm not 40 something,I'm actually in my teens),Franz Ferdinand(English band) is quite good,& the Kaiser Chiefs(another English band) are okay too.

Hey, scuse me, sorry, i know i'm in the wrong thread (I have all the musical talent of a long dead albatross) but someone said 'musicians' and, well... i have a weakness.
but i can be useful, if you were wanting musical tabs, get in touch with 6stringjack - he has hundreds, and hundreds of the things, and he's very big on the sharing (believe me, just don't get the guy started on copyright laws!)
no, he's definetly one to talk to, not sure where he's hanging around at the moment, but pm him.
