speaking of, i drove 30 minutes to the nearest game store at which i ordered said game last night for a release party that was stated to occur by a phone call from EB games.

well, i ended up standing outside some locked doors for about an hour with a few other people that arrived after I did. they screwed up, and i'm slightly peeved.

I got the Collector's edition at midnight, plus the collector's edition of the guide. comes with one of six varriations that you can't see til you open it. I saw the 6 different versions on the back, and thought, oh, I'd like any of those 4, but not that one. I got the one I least cared for, of course. Basch.

Oh no, Seryn, they're talking gamer again. No clue!

But, hey, I bought this cool stuff at the store. Called Thimble-it. a "natural-feeling self-adhesive finger pad" for sewing etc. The woman at the store stuck one on my finger and I was impressed. Much better than a bulky metal thimble. www.colonialneedle.com

a pack of 64 was $5. No more bleeding on my corset (hopefully).

Turns out the store decided they didn't want to pay for mall security (the eb is in a mall), so they decided not to do it. Of course, they couldn't let anyone know about that little detail =/

My boss told me this great Halloween joke today. Ready?

Boss: Knock knock.
Me: Who's there?
Boss: Not you any more.

Well, okay, that's not how it happened. But sadly my firm is now apparently heading for the liquidiser and they're looking for voluntary redundancies and if they don't find them, compulsorary ones.

I do actually feel really bad for my boss. He's been my first decent one, plus this is happening when he was supposed to fly out to New York tomorrow (something he's had planned for ages).

The timing with my new house and all is crappy but I am certain that I can get another job quickly (in fact, my CV is already off to two companies, one of which is on a recommendation from a friend). I'm confident in my skills and myself. But still, interesting times and all...
