Oh! I have a question, now that you've clarified arm length and how to measure it - what about shoulder width? I don't make clothes, but I do know that a lot of the time my shoulders are too broad to let a jacket hang naturally. Is that a useful/pertinent measurement as well?
Don't make faces.

Marina, unless you are built like a linebacker (
) the chest measurement usually takes that into account. If you would care to, feel free to include the measurement across your shoulders in back, and I will see if any changes need to be made to the pattern.

Now should I buy one of these for me or should I be a good girl and spend my money on other people. Arg! I want on and I have a friend that would look great in this thing (plus she's putting together a Kaylee costume) but It would take me some time to get together the money for two of them.
Such a dilema.

Quick update...I managed to come across some fabric while in Georgia this weekend:
The good news is that I have enough of this to make two coats....the bad news is that I can't order any more of this fabric. This was a close-out, and the store does not have access to any more. So, the next few orders will have a choice of the original fabric or this!

Tristan, the jacket is beautiful, and I love this new material. I'm going to check my budget. Did I miss how much you are charging for it? *Edit: I reread the first post. I will be checking for an extra $80 in my budget.*
CallMeSerenity, you will look gorgeous in your new jacket!
