How many years have you been a Firefly fan? 18 mos. around the time of the vegas sneak peek of serenity

How many DVD sets (Firefly only) have you purchased? 8

Approximately how many Firefly converts have you made? at least 20, but i have a fealing its more.

(Optional) Just for fun, how did you first discover Firefly?
Back when Firefly was on fox a friend who was a buffy angel fan told me about a new scifi series by the creator of buffy, me not being a buffy fan blew it off, i watched train job but part way through it and turned to watch something else, after that i forgot about it until my friend told me about the dvd, i bought the dvd because i didnt want to hear him break my balls about it anymore, the dvd sat and collected dust for a long time until the same friend told me about the BDM so i finally caved and watched the entire series in a marathon session (except objects in space, i just didnt want it to end). from then on i was hooked and a fan, I didnt really start frequenting this site until the first of this year though....

Many of the members of the Traveller Mailing List talked a great deal about how awesome the show was so I decided to check it out. However not willing to just take their word for it and not wanting to spend $50 sight unseen for the DVDs I attempted to rent it from my neighborhood supermegavideostore. They did not have it. And since they have proven on many occasions to not have movies I really like I thought then that I could take a chance on purchasing the set. Best $50 bucks I didn't have that I ever spent.

Saw the trailer for the movie, thought it was hilarious. Before Serenity came out on dvd, SciFi ran a marathon. Since I knew it was connected, I watched the whole thing and was hooked.

None. Both sets I own were gifts from other fans.

I first discovered it back in 2002 when my father watched it and tried to get me involved. At the time, I was engrossed in a Friday night card group and was only able to catch a few minutes here or there. I meant to see Serenity but never was able to arrange a babysitter. I borrowed my dad's copy of Firefly that he got for Christmas and was hooked. He, in turn, purchased the Firefly set for my husband and I.

I have purchased one DVD set

I have five converts so far and have plans for a sixth!

I discovered Firefly last fall thanks to the SciFi channels Firefly marathon to create hype for the BDM Serenity! I haven't been the same since.

Once you've been in Serenity you never leave. You find a way to live in it.

3) 6 or so converts
4) Was interested by original commercials but could never find it due to being preempted by some sport or other. Than early '05 my dad brought the show back from a visit with my older brother. Been hooked ever since.

Probably upwards of a dozen.

Depends on what you mean by convert. If you mean an active fan that participates on web forums, converts others, etc. then it's probably only a handful (say five). If you mean those I got to watch the show, I'd say a few dozen.

There was a post about Joss Whedon's new Sci-Fi project on slashdot before the show aired that first got me interested (I hadn't been a Buffy/Angel fan before Firefly so I didn't hear about it through those channels)

My husband wanted to watch the show when it aired originally. I wasn't interested until I found out that the guy from Two Guys and a Girl was in it. Nathan Fillion was the only reason I watched that wretched show (Two Guys, that is).
