Well, as usual, the weather isn't helping with the fire.

But yeah, I love living here. I can't imagine being somewhere with actual weather. I'd melt or get blown away or something. But folks with weather do have green. We only have green if we irrigate for it or from about Feb to May.

Oh, and the nights are chilly. low 50s. It's suppose to cool down over the weekend, too. I was riding last night and my horse was clomping his way through the fallen leaves. So, it does still feel like fall...just a bit of a different kind of fall then some see.

Afternoon everyone,

As far as guns go, I've never held or fired one.And have no desire to.They frighten me, as there is so much gun violence where I live. all my life I've heard how destructive they are. Good on you folk that are being responsible about them though.Now weapons like a sword or mace I could deal with , and when I have a house I probably will get one or 2 .Recently I went to the Metropolitan museum and they have an armory.It was astounding to see all the weapons humanity can come up with.

Hi Tristan - I love it when it rains . I live right on the coast and there's that salty taste to the sir just before a storm.It's even better if we get lightining.For some reason I find it very energizing.Now if it gets really hot, that's when I want to curl up and stay in bed !I think I may be part polar bear.

Hmm, a salt taste to the rain...now that wouldn't be too bad at all!

I also had a chance to go through the Met when I visited there in '96...or maybe '97...can't quite remember. I think I may have been the only one in the Medieval section with a sketch pad!

Lets see
Weapons: I own many but haven't named any.

Gun Safety: I started shooting and thus learned gun safety very early. I think I was about 5 or 6. And It was seriously drilled into me not to touch w/o supervision.

Rain: Its raining hard here, but I love the rain.

Embarassing destructive incident: Lets just say black ice and granite cliffs don't mix.

No guns for me. I don't ever want one because I can convince myself way too easily that a stranger's life is totally worthless. If I was ever in a situation where someone was threatinging a friend or family member with harm and I had a gun that person would be shot without a second thought. So, I think it's probably best I don't ever use a gun.

Weapons? No real ones (I do own the old Transformers Megatron though -- the Walther P90 [?] version without the fun accessories, just him.) The usual kitchen utensils, scissors, razor thingy for cutting taped boxes...OH! and I do have a plumber's size wrench (for the under-the-sink pipes) (I guess that would count as a weapon if I were to grab ahold of it at the right time.)

Rain: Rarely does, 'cause that means that the humidity is going to drop. (Growing up in a location that almost constanly rained makes me used to the rain. For me, rainy days usually means that it's the "winter" season here. ) If it's a drizzle *phft* "liquid sunshine." If it's a bit harder, then I look for the nearest dry spot to hide under (unless I need to let the immature brat out and play) or coze comfortably at home. Constantly overcast, pouring rain days are another story...then yes, I think I get SAD.

I've never noticed a salt taste to the air, but I tend to get pressure headaches if it's supposed to rain (and be a big one) soon. For me, I like the after the rain scent where the whole place has that "clean" smell to it. It's just really something to enjoy.

It's Friday. I can't believe today feels like a Garfield MONDAY with all the fun of Mrs. Murphy's law tossed in. Teachers/social service folk here: ever have days where doing what you're expected to do to make the workplace "safe" (like chasing off tresspassers who have scary intents -- picking up youths to join them for "fun") just goes 'round and bites you right there? That's what today feels like.

I'm off for a bit...try and see you shiny folks later.

I got my first BB gun when I was about 9 years old. I did have quite a few water guns when I was younger. I have no weapons not even toys, now.

A .38 snub nose is my main sidearm. Gold plated hammer and trigger, my dad got it for me when I graduated from jump school.

Two .45 semi-auto's, one Colt and one Springfield. Colt's my favorite to shoot.

I also have an AR-15, that was unfortunately purchased during the assault weapons ban, so there's no flash supressor and the mags I have for it are only 20 rounds. I could get the accessories, but I'm too poor right now.

U.S. Army Standard issue KABAR. My favorite knife.

Buck knife that I've used on several hunting and wilderness excursions.

A decently crafted Daisho from Hanwei. I named the Zukuri Katana "Kage no Aki", Shadow of Autumn. The wakizashi remains un-named.

Traditional Scottish Claymore, with a Y shaped hilt instead of the "Braveheart" cross-hilt.

And besides those, a host of 15$ - 70$ "crap" swords. Although I wish to point out one in particular, "Mikadonami", that has particular sentimental value.

A really cheap double flail, tonfa, nunchaku, shinai, bokken, knuckle-dusters, butterfly-knife.

That's all I can think of. My dad's got a small armoury in his basement.
