Heck, the CW website had it wrong also...

I figure some CW flunkie did it because they knew it would draw in the Browncoats.

*Sighs*

My daughter & I watched to see Summer, and alas, no Summer.

I did not see her name in the opening credits, but I figured maybe it was a mistake or I had blinked and missed her name. So as we are watching I keep waiting for Summer to pop on screen and nothing. About halfway through the episode I figured we were going to go without Summer and was a bit aggrivated. I like Supernatural and have just started tuning in, but I had really looked forward to seeing our Summer again.

aawww I missed CSI for this too--Summer could have done a good job and either Angela or Lindsay

this is very confusing...
and I'm wondering if it could have been some weird joke played by Ben Edlund (who is a Producer on Supernatural)
I mean why would they, CW, list Summer as on the show when she wasn't?
I could understand if it was April 1st, but this is just too weird....

As you will recall, Ben Edlund was also a Producer & writer on Firefly

Airing order gets switched around all the time. Didn't Summer (or one of the sources) say she'd be playing a ghost? It might be next week's episode, or the one after that.

No problem for me, since I tune in regularly anyway.

that was another thing they got wrong...
since the returning vengeful dead character wasn't a ghost, she (the not Summer character) was a zombie,
but it couldn't be a mixed up episode since it was true that they visited their Mother's grave...

the official site said about last night's
"Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things"
Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki)

Quote:

investigate the murder of a college student (guest star Summer Glau) who has come back from the dead seeking revenge on those who mistreated her while she was alive. Upon confrontation, the ghost savagely attacks Sam, leaving him injured.

While in town, the brothers visit their mother's grave to pass along something from their father (Jeffrey Dean Morgan's).

Raelle Tucker wrote the episode directed by Kim Manners.

it is just one piece of mis-information after another, very weird...
I'm just thinking Ben Edlund (who is listed as a producer) was putting out Summer's name to get/fool the the Firefly/Serenity fans....

Something else that they got wrong in that episode description is that the girl was not murdered, she died in a car accident.

Looks to me like there is another episode and they just made a mistake.

yeah if the mistake is that they accidently have two episodes with the same title and the identical scene of visiting their mother's grave and having a dead girl rise up for vengence....

although actually this is such a dumb repetitive show maybe they do have dead girls coming back every other episode for vengence...
this week as a zombie
next week as a ghost
later as mummy
let's see...we've already had plenty of vampires...

*eyeroll*
I am only partly upset because they said Summer was on when she wasn't - mostly I'm annoyed that I wasted an hour watching the show.

edited to add: at least I'm not the only one complaining:

Well, ghosts tend to be pretty vengeance-oriented. You never get a ghost coming back saying "I just wanna catch the rest of Battlestar Galactica before I go" or something. Though, to be fair, if you did get ghosts like that, there wouldn't really be a need for the Dukes of Hazard-Pay to get involved.

But yeah, it looks like someone mistook two episodes (possibly being filmed together) with one ep.

"Girl dies in a car accident and is brought back as a zombie which runs amok" is pretty from "murdered girl comes back as a ghost and exacts vengeance."

And, for the record, we've only seen vampires twice. They're pretty much extinct, as per John, last season.
