I feel now like Simon should be further up the list. All that sexual feeling pent up after years of just his sister to look after. If he could unwind a bit, I'd bet he'd be a beast! And he's cute, of course.

Wowo, some of this post is rather... intense.
Let me just say that Wash is my favorite character. Gotta go with the clown. The guy who can make his face do whatever he wants it to. Course, his wife would kill us both. Then again, that's another thing I like about him. He's loyal and all that.
I love Mal. He's got a grand gun. And coat. And sense of humor.
Jayne is great to laugh at. You gotta love him even though he's a goat. Love his numerous random phrases and facial expressions.
Book is fridden hott for an old dude. I mean, seriously, have you seen his muscles?
Recently I've been finding Simon growing on me. Odd indeed for I never, ever like the pretty boy. However, after watching Out of Gas again, I really enjoy his absolutley droll sense of humor. Really, I saw the BDM first and thought Sean was a terrible actor, but it's really all the character.
So there.

Wash is my second, funny, loyal, and dependable.
Jayne would be my third choice, not as hot as Mal but still...
Simon annoys me too much sometimes and Book's a Shepard.

BDM = Big Damn Movie. A fan reference to 'Serenity', based on Zoe's line from 'Safe' about the crew being "Big Damn Heroes, Sir!" It confuzzled me too at the start.
Now for my list 
1) Simon
2) Mal
3) Wash
4) Jayne
5) Book
Although Mal and Wash are pretty close together. Basically I'd be a very, very happy woman if any of the top three gave me so much as the time of day, but Sean is the one who stole my heart.

1. Simon - totally not my type. I don't do boring and stuffy. However, anyone who has that kind of capacity for love and selflessness and compassion, and anyone with that kind of devotion can, have my heart in a minute.
2. Jayne - Yes, he's an jerk. I can handle jerks. The fact that he is deceitful is a bigger problem. Yet, for whatever reason, his sense of humor and his childlike moments and his awesome hat makes me more attracted to him than to the rest of them.
3a. Mal - Love his sense of humor. Love his devotion to his crew. His bossiness would get old REALLY fast. I don't like being told what to do. I love him, but it would never last.
3b. Wash - Love him. Love him love him love him. But not attracted to him. Don't know why. Did I mention I love him?
4. Book - No. Just no.
