You know, here's the thing...

I've been lurking here forever, kind of a dork when it comes to using message boards, and computers in general so was always to "shy" to join in and post something. Been a FFfan since about 3 episodes into the series - miss it terribly as do most of you.

But that's beside the point in this thread... I finally had to join in 'cuz I think you folks are pretty dang cool for passing on such thoughts as I've seen here. You're right - everyone overthere is ALREADY big damn heros. Most all of the men and women over there would sure as hell rather be back here, home with their loved ones, but they're doing what they have to do.

God bless them, each and every one. And thanks to all of you for brightening my days...

Your aircraft is allowed to come back with holes in it.

You are not to have any holes in you other than the ones issued by the manufacturer.

Soldier's Prayer

Lord, I ask for courage, courage to face and conquer my own fears...courage to take me where others will not go.

I ask for strength. Strength of body to protect others, strength of spirit to lead others.

I ask for dedication. Dedication to my job, to do it well. Dedication to my country, to keep it safe.

Give me, Lord, concern. For those who trust me and compassion for those who need me.

And please Lord, through it all be at my side.

I'm not familiar with the gentleman in question, but I would like to pass along my salute to him and all his comrades.

It is appreciated, it is honored, and it will never be forgotten.

We don't know who put this cup of life into our hands. But when we go our bones will bake upon the burning sands. 'Cause we walk but once among the living, so no regrets and no forgiving- it's hard to dance when you're down upon your knees. And these are dark days indeed.
