Prayers for Static

Many of us have become very well acquainted with a browncoat named Static, a National Guardsman currently stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Static asked me to ask us to send a few highly concentrated prayers EAST for the next six hours (starting about 4:00P CST) , specifically for the servicemen on the ground where he's stationed. No details will ever be available. All he could say was that he and his wingman were going to go and be "big damn heros."

UPDATE: CONFIRMED! Static himself has posted to let us know he's home safe!

Thanks to EVERYBODY who posted, and to those who may not have been moved to post but responded to the request.

This is not a hoax or a false alarm. Please post as you feel moved to, but Do Not Sully This.

A Prayer for Those in the Armed Services

O God of Mercy*, we beg You now to protect in a special way those who are fighting for us and for the country we love. Bless them and take care of them. If they are tired, give them strength. If they are wounded and suffering, give them comfort. If they are lonely, touch them with Your gentle hand and let them know that You are near them. Grant them strength, wisdom and help through Your power and Your limitless love. Amen.
