Aaaaaaaaaawwwww...!!! Emma that simply is not right!!! Do you have an avenue of appeal? Would your supervisor write a letter to confirm that he/she advised you to do that? Is there legal student aid on campus or through a branch of your college/university? Can yu utilise you nasty illness and get a doctors letter saying that you were advised to avoid stress? Anything that might help...???

Do you need your forsaken bretheren & sistren to come over there and burn their puny a's???

You want I should send my Jayne clone in...?

He's a little whimsical in the brainpan...

But he's a master of disguise...

...and he gets the job done, with flair!!

Hugs to you Emma dearling!! - Magda x x x

Oh, Emma, that is so not cool. We're here for you, whenever you need to vent. I'm sure one of us forsaken could whip up a spell to... I don't know, make them see the error of their ways? Not a do harm kind of thing, you understand. Then you could always just give them a big ole bag of snakes!

I think they're blackmailing me for more course fees that I can't afford and shouldn't have to pay.

That is truely crap. As a UK university bod I can only advise getting as many senior staff on your side as possible as the final call generally goes to the head of department or the senior school committee and if they hear a few friendly-to-you voices in their midst then so much the better. Universities are notoriously bureaucratic so there will be an appeals procedure - you have no doubt explored this - so good luck picking your way through the minefield... we are with you if only in spirit.

p.s. if you are Catholic then notes from a priest have been known to have a strangly strong influence!

I never got my associates degree because College is terminally boring and a degree is largely overrated for a majority of the people who get one. (I said for the MAJORITY, for all you haters of the "unenlightened" who will no doubt have a million and one good things to say about "higher" education) Online classes all but nullify the value of most degrees, and they're all getting better educations in foreign countries now just to exceed us..... Welcome to the global economy. (They didn't tell me about that little curve ball when I was in high school, though somebody must have known it was happening... Wall Street certainly did)

I know about college from experience. I've been there 4 times. They still haven't convinced me that the College Algebra class that I just can't seem to avoid failing will ever help anyone who is not either a scientist or a college Algebra teacher. The teachers don't care none too much when I let them know how I feel about either profession..... reckon why?

I remember this one Algebra class I actually showed up to when I hadn't been there for about 3 weeks and the teacher had me do a graph of a Parabola on the board. I didn't know what the hell she was talking about but I went up to the board and made my graph and watched the guy next to me. His looked like a big grin on the graph, so I drew me a big smily face with eyes and everything and wrote "SMILE!" in big letters underneath it. She didn't care for that none too much although it illicited more than a few chuckles from the other students struggling to grasp these utterly useless concepts. I don't recall, but I do believe that that was my last time attending Algebra class on that particular attempt.

I know enough math to keep myself far out of debt which is more than I can say for most Americans, particularly from the College demographic. To this day, I still haven't smoked away what a parabola is. SMILE!

Exactly! Everyone loves Kaylee She's just about the only character who inspires absolutely no hostile feelings in any of the fans whatsoever. Except maybe a few who are jealous that Simon likes her. But overall, she's loved!

Funnily enough, someone else did a much more detailed animation of the quote (can't remember who) and they used Kaylee for exactly the same line! In fact, they used the footage of her getting shot in the pilot episode. So it's not just me! She really is perfect!

That banner is one of my sloppier ones though. I'll have to clean it up a bit and post it again.

Also, anyone using my banners as signatures - you DON'T have to include a thank you to me in your signature! Just let people know I made the banner if they ask, and maybe point 'em to my shiny new site. Thanks!

Emma love- I've been in a similar place and it bites big time. I agree get senior staff on your side. Write down ( as best you remember) who told you what and why and anything else anyone tells you...get it in writing!!! I am so sorry you're going through this...if you can't get them to see reason, I suggest going to the press and getting it publicized what happened to you as a "cautionary tale" which can often motivate large institutions to back down to aviod looking like the monsters they really are:)

Yes Emma, listen to MSG for she is wise... that sounds like the best way to handle that awful situation. I really hope it works out for you. And I hope we get to read your thesis too!

*Drags his sorry butt out of the archives, covered in dust, having finally finished reading the entire back history of the forsaken.*

That was an educational read (or fourty). Now that I 've done that, I'm off to practise for the CFS state competitions. I'll be back in a few hours, looking somewhat less out-of-shape.

If you find yourself getting too worked up about stuff that isn't real (RP Threads etc), then go outside, breathe in some fresh air and try feeding the ducks. (Because ducks don't care about your politics, religion, skin colour, choice of music or even your haircut. They like everyone, provided you bring them food.)
