I love her. The things Dru says makes sense, though it's not even remotely linear. Joss wrote the part for Juliet, and you can tell that she really owns it.

I love Lindsey, and he gets even better. Lindsey is a hick with a major chip on his shoulder which gives him a lot of entitlement issues. And I'm a bitter hick too so I like him even more.

Lilah, on the other hand, is just evil and she likes it that way thankyouverymuch. You may like (or at least understand) her more later on once they get into her POV later on. The chemistry between Lilah and Lindsey is fun for their great comedic hate-hate relationship that is built on snark and pathological competitiveness.

I also love the glimpses of the corporate culture of Wolfram & Hart. I'd hate to work there, because I would have been murdered within a few days, but I think the writers use W&H to vent their issues with network execs and lawyers and of course they make it wickedly funny.

I'm a few discs behind, so I'll just touch on the episodes I liked the best.

I enjoyed "Blood Money" and "The Thin Dead Line". Chanterelle/Lily/Anne has really grown into her own person, and she wasn't afraid to play both sides of the game.

"Happy Anniversary" and the Pylean Chronicles were great just for the fact of Lorne. I swear, that guy cannot get any cooler. And it was interesting to see more about his past. Oh, and I like Fred, even if she is a little kooky.

I think my favorite episode was "Dead End". Anything with Lindsey has my vote. It was cool to see him get in touch with his inner redneck. However, I'm still not happy about him not returning until the fifth season. With him gone, all we have is Lilah.

I think Joss and Co. intentionally made the season finale more light-hearted. Having two depressing season finales would have been too draining. Still, I'm looking forward to both shows.

P.S. - And finally, I know what your name's in reference to, Groosalugg. Here's hoping we get to see "the brave and undefeated" in the future.

Yeah, if you haven't gotten to that point in the series yet, it's like, 'what the hell'?

You could've just done like Gunn--"Yo, priesty: what's the 411 on this Groosalugg? What's that about?"

And I hope you noticed that in the second Pylean episode, Numfar ("Do the dance of honor!") was played by none other than Joss Whedon.

Oh, and as for Lindsey being gone and "all we have is Lilah"--just wait. 'Cause now we've got Gavin, and even tho I like Lindsey a lot, too, Gavin's even better. The back-and-forth competition between he and Lilah goes to heights (or is it depths?) it never went to with Lindsey...

Wow, haven't updated in a while. Three whole discs to catch up on...

Darla pregnant. That was an exercise in weirdness. But I really came to like her character. There were a lot of interesting layers to Darla.

Fred is just the sweetest. The smarts and kookiness meld together well. When you think about it, her character is the closest equivalent to Kaylee. She has this perpetually cheery outlook. I loved the scene at the end of "Billy" with her and Wesley. To be able to forgive someone that just tried to kill you shows true heart.

Angel is sooo adorable as a dad. Though I have to wonder about a baby that smiles at a demonic face.

With all the crap happening on Buffy, watching Angel is like a breath of fresh air. Though I get the feeling things are going to take a darker turn (as usual).

I love Kane's music, too, and second the recommendation! But just to warn you, their style definitely fits into the 'alt-country' genre (which is a million times better than the bland stuff that masquerades as 'country' in the mainstream these days--Shania Twain, Keith Urban, Lonestar, etc.). If you like Cross Canadian Ragweed, Joe Ely, Robert Earl Keen, and that type of music, you should enjoy Kane, as well.

And even if you don't normally like country, they're worth checking out, especially if you like Christian on Angel. Just want to make sure you know what kind of music you're paying for before you shell out your money for it...

Where did I leave off? Between this and Buffy, I'm having trouble keeping storylines straight.

Oh yeah. "Waiting In The Wings" was great eye candy. I mean, we already knew what a wonderful dancer Summer was, but watching her in that episode was just breath-taking.

Poor Angel. The guy really can't catch a break. Becoming a father is stressful enough, but losing your son and then having said son imprison you in a coffin is just crappy. And to top all of that off, he's in love with Cordelia, and one of his best friends kidnapped his kid. It's been a bad, I don't know, century?

And though he may not deserve it, poor Wesley too. Even though I don't agree with what he did, I understand why he felt he had to. And the others (maybe not Angel) could have given him a chance to explain himself before turning their backs on him.

Holtz is an evil bastard (but then that's stating the obvious ). He chose the absolute worse way to get revenge on Angel. May he burn in a very special hell.

Season four's going to be one hell of a ride. Can't hardly wait.

See, that's where I disagree with you, and what I think makes Holtz the best nemesis (notice I didn't say 'Big Bad') in the entire run of the Buffy/Angelverse: he was a good man.

He was a vampire hunter, much the same way the Scoobies and Fang Gang are in the modern day. He protected the innocent by removing the vampire threat. He took on the mission of slaying Angelus and Darla, and good for him, because they were as bad as they came and the world would've been much safer and better off without them. And what happened instead? His intended prey turned around on him and victimized him in just about the most horrible way imaginable. Not only did they kill his wife, daughter, and infant son, but they turned his daughter and forced him to kill her. How can you not sympathize with him over something like that, or understand his need for revenge?

Once he got to Los Angeles, his one real flaw was that he could never grasp the difference between Angelus and Angel. He couldn't understand that they were in fact two entirely separate people--in essence, twin brothers, one noble and good, and the other despicably evil. And because of that he was compelled to exact the vengeance on Angel that was really due to Angelus, and Angelus alone.

To me, Holtz is on a level with the Operative as the most compelling Joss antagonists...
