Joss wouldn't have posted if all the fanboys weren't freaking out on all the message boards. News services were picking it up, but the fact remains that Joss wouldn't have felt the need to post unless people were going crazy about it. Not necessarily a problem but certainly an instance for a chill pill.

Am I the only one who feels totally lost when Mr. Whedon talks about, well, anything? It's like he's got half a million little inside jokes that I'm totally clueless about, or maybe it's just that his intellect is so vastly superior to mine. Or maybe he's totally insane. It's probably a combination of all three...
Good news about FireFly/Serenity and all. I still think that violence is going to be a intregral part of whatever solution is reached on this issue, so we should probably start slaughtering filmakers and F*X executives ASAP.

See, Browncoats? Joss may not be actively working on his end to get a sequel right now, but that means the ball is on OUR court now. WE need to do the recruitment and the purchases. The huge conglomerate of movie investors are not gonna listen to some weird guy with red hair saying, "Please let me make another movie." They're gonna look at their spreadsheets and sales numbers and say, "Hey! This little movie is making a killing on DVD. Let's make some more money by making a sequel!"

Reading -- in his own words -- that Firefly's cancellation broke Joss' heart breaks _my_ heart. I mean, I love the show, but I just watched it. I can't even imagine what it must have felt like to create it and then be forced to drop it.
Anyway, I guess I'll still go around showing my DVDs to my nearest and dearest, doing my part to keep the market buzzin' for more...
Kind of a sweet, slightly melancholy post (Joss', I mean, not mine) to end the day...
