Well, the shock's worn off somewhat.
And this is what I see -
This is not a kiddie porn site. The people who come here are not pedophiles looking for porn. PN who is a conspiracy nut was not sharing his kiddie porn. Given all that, Zero took ONE photo in ONE post out of context and felt 'compelled' to notify the FBI. That wasn't an anti-porn action. It was simply to make trouble for someone he disagrees with. Now, once you are in focus, you may or may not have a hard time with the FBI, and you will most certainly end up on a list or four. You know, those extra-legal lists where no one's been found guilty or even been accused, but where 'evidence' is compiled against you for some unknown future use.
Do you now trust Zero to NOT do that to you? To NOT find some pretext to get you into legal trouble just because he doesn't agree with you? Do you now feel as free to express your opinions? Or to share whatever information you may have?
I don't.
Well, at least now we know about him.

The great thing about a forum like FFF.net is that provides a place for people to speak their minds without fear of reprisal...or at least it used to. Taking something like this completely out of context and contacting the gorramn feds is simply wrong. And the more I think about it the more 
I get. Even though I'm sure nothing will come of it, it's the political motivation behind it that I find disturbing.
I don't trust Hero now, and I never will after this. But as for speaking my mind, I'll continue to do so and I'd encourage everyone else to do likewise. Something tells me you're on your own, Hero. I hope it was worth it.

I have NEVER trusted Hero. He horn-dogs after war widows, can barely smother the rage against his ex and her boyfriend, and likes to intimidate people. He's the perfectly noxious combination of fear and bullying. But altho Hero has been exposed as a Alliance mole, I don't intend to pay it any mind.

You're right, I probably shouldn't opine, and I did read the thread, I just didn't see the post that supposedly set it all off. Call me a busybody too.
I just want to clarify that I am not condoning Hero's reporting actions, myself I would direct something like that to the site admin's attention, it's his business.
BUT - the paranoia level is on the high side, is all I'm saying.
It's okay to leave them to die.

Well nobody is going to stop me from speaking my mind, and as for PN, say what you will about him but at leaste he is taking some action. he has his own web-site. This is his way of doing something about things he feels strongly about, at least he's doing something, I'm sure many of us here will now be put on the unpatriotic list for daring to speak our mind. that is of course if the FBI doesn't have more important things to do!!
I find Zero to be lame, and reprehensible, defintely not a Browncoat!!

AND MOST IMPORTANT TO FFF.NET, Section 2251A2 makes it a crime for the folk who run our beloved Firefly fansite to: "2) knowingly receives or distributes -
(A) any child pornography that has been mailed, or shipped or
transported in interstate or foreign commerce by any means,
including by computer; or
(B) any material that contains child pornography that has
been mailed, or shipped or transported in interstate or foreign
commerce by any means, including by computer;"
Lastly, Section 2258 requires me to report this to the FBI, which I have done. Actually its the local Ohio law which mirrors that Federal law...but I digress.
Anyway, thought you'd all want to know.

I notice you take the same attitude as all other so-called "law enforcers" who REFUSE to investigate that pedophile bondage website, and refuse to subpoena "Jeff Gannon's" (aka "James Guckert) DNA, to see if he really is the kidnapped Johnny Gosch. What the--? Am I the only one who doesn't see any "child porn" going on in those pictures? Jeez, there's a difference between sex and violence. Put your fantasies aside and take a look at what's happening in the pictures. I see fully clothed children bound and gagged, and visibly terrified. One boy doesn't have a shirt and there seems to be evidence of a star branded on his shoulder. They're disturbing images, heartbreaking, but any sex is in the eyes of the beholder. PN tells us about a child sex ring and shows us these pictures. If he were talking about a simple kidnapping and showed these pictures, they would arouse nothing but sympathy. But because PN says the children in the pictures were sexually abused, that somehow changes the pictures? No.
It disturbs me that so many folks believe that pictures that show the unambiguous suffering of children should be censored--makes me wonder if they'd really rather not know about it. I know that's not particularly fair, but the invisibility of child abuse is one of its most insidious characteristics. PN is not sexualizing these children, he's politicizing them.
