Yeah, it has a gym. Or, technically a "Fellowship Center" that has a floor painted with basketball court lines.

We have a church basketball league and the kids have practices there. But we also have a bazillion tables and chairs that we set up for functions and whatnot, and a stage we can set up for performances or skits and games and whatnot.

We're one of the larger churches on our community (not the largest by far, though) so, we get a lot of use both in house and in the community.

I want raspberry jam cakes!

That's the real trick isn't it? It's like an inverted case of circular logic - a preposition that denies it's own truth. Bravo for making my head spin.

Yes, i'd like to see how she manages that!

Serenity - oh, you mean like a sports hall! I thought you meant an actual gym with treadmills and weights littered about the place - lots of sweaty people who really are praying for deliverence.

Like Dodgeball, but with a religious angle.

Mixing the two American past times of radicalised Christianity and bad body image. Now all ya need is a gift shop and a while-u-wait plastic surgery centre.

You can call it the Holy Reconstruction.

Can you imagine?

"I cast ye out evil cellulite! Be gone to the firey pits of hell!"

In fact I'm an ordained reverend, I might emigrate and start up my own church. Church of the capitalists.

"And your purpose for emigration"
"I want to start a cult."
"A cult?"
"Yes"
"What sort of a Cult?"
"Just like Christianity, but with a gift shop a gym and a plastic surgery."
"Oh, good, thank god, I thought you were a nutter for a minute there."

Actually I might go for a more British feel. Like Catholism there'd be free booze (but no wimpy bread, pickeled eggs but no bread) but unlike catholism there'd be none of that prayer stuff. No original sin that can't be washed away by beer.

Actually I think I might just open a pub.

Actually I think a pub is a British church.

More insane ramblings by the people who brought you beeeer milkshakes!
No one can see their reflection in running water. It is only in still water that we can see.

You're a bit scary sometimes, you know that?

I wish we did have a gym, because gym memberships are expensive.

You could mix in the third Great American Obsession if you made it a drive through.

Useful knowledge. Stick that away for later.

Roll me up and breathe me in
Come to my madness
My opium den
Come to my madness
Make sense of it again."

You can be an ordained minister too if you want. http://www.themonastery.org/

No thanks. Just making notes of folk capable of performing ceremonies.
Were I to be ordained.... *shudder*

I was under the impression that a pub was a Irish church. Whiskey does tranlate from Gaelic as "water of life". If that don't sound like holy water what does?

Hey if two people get really drunk at a FF con and of are the mind to you could marry them right, being a minister and all?

"Hi Bob, did you have a good time at S5?"

"Hello Tim, I guess you could say that."

"Get lucky?"

"That depends on your point of view. In true Firefly fashion I got drunk Saurday night and woke up married Sunday morning."

"She didn't rob you blind, sell your identity to credit thieves and put you out of your own apartment with a restraining order for domestic abuse, did she?"

"Not so you would notice."

"Shiny, I call that a win."
