TV Duds Rate as Studs in DVD Market - Reuters/Billboard (several positive Firefly mentions)

The Letter writing campaign has been put on hold for now. We have received word from a couple of sources that Universal is, at this point, on board with movie, and that the current stumbling block is elsewhere. So as a result, we have been asked to put our letter writing campaign directed toward Universal on hold for now. Thanks to all those that participated, I'm convinced it has helped. In the mean time, feel free to follow through with our other guerilla marketing ideas, and continue converting friends, family and complete strangers to the Firefly fold.

And all this on my birthday. I'm just plain lucky!

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

Universal could be lying, trying to trick us just so we would stop writing letters...assholes.

I hope some day in the not so distant future we will all know WTF is going on? This whole thing is confusing as hell. I was out of touch a few weeks, and wanted to write som letters tomorrow, but now I´m told not to ?!?

I hope Universal gets to clear the moorings on this project and can get all the other actors out of their engagements.

Let´s hope the best.
I can´t wait to see this movie. :)

Its really annoying not knowing whats going on obviously its encouraging that universal seem to be on board with it but there seems to be a hitch somewhere and its impossible to tell whether its something minor or something really major.

I'm guessing it's probably a conflict with finding a schedule or contract that works for all 9 actors, or getting the set and stuff back together. Either way, we're getting closer to seeing our movie being made, but it might just take longer. As long as the end is worth all of this, I don't mind!

Okay, here's what happened to Jeremy over at fireflymovie.com.

A few days ago, Jeremy got a knock on his door. He opened the door and saw two men in dark suits and sunglasses standing on his doorstep.

"Are you Jeremy?" One of the men asked. The other man continued smoothly, "We're from Universal Studios. May we come in?"

A few minutes later, Jeremy served them tea, trying not to act nervous. One of the men began to speak:

"Jeremy, you probably know we're here because of your Firefly fan site. We work for Universal's "Fan Management" division. We like you, son, and we want to bring you to the inner circle."

Before Jeremy could speak, the other man continued, "That's right, you're with us, now. You see, we need you to tell Firefly fans to quit writing postcards. The movie is a go, but the news can't be public, not yet. And you're not going to tell anyone, either."

Jeremy gulped. "I'm...not going to tell anyone?" he said in a strained voice.

"You see Jeremy, here's how it works," said the first man. "You help us, then we can help you. If you keep quiet about the Firefly Movie, then we'll give you lots of insider fan news for your website in the future. Just think, you'll have the best Firefly movie site in the world! But... if you betray our trust and tell everyone about the movie, well then..."

"We'll make sure you never run a fan site. Ever. Again." The second man finished.

"I - I'll tell everyone to stop writing postcards."

"That's a good boy, Jeremy."

Jeremy was in total shock as he shook hands with the men and shut the door. The men drove off in a black limousine.

So the men didn't have to get out their sunglasses and flashy-mind-erasing thingy's?; That's good to know. Or did they?....

You know, I've been searching for Mutant Enemy's website (Joss Whedon's production company, for those of you who are obscenely uninformed) and you know what? It doesn't seem to exist. I think that us Firefly fans, and the like, would really appreciate it if there were one (hint hint, wink wink, nudge nudge). That way we could get our information directly from the source instead of having to suss' it out from a bunch of heresay and scuttlebutt. Just a thought.
