We are the few, the proud, the crazy people who actually choose to live in Minnesota where the temperature goes down to 40 below, and the snow goes up to there. I like to call us the Frozen Chozen.

So if you're living somewhere in Minnesota, let us know. Maybe when the weather gets a little less ridiculous we can get together for a little Shindig. If you used to live here and long for the frozen tundra - speak up!! Once a Minnesotan, always a Minnesotan.

Shiny!!!

We actually have a few more than 4. My husband and I have made a few converts among our friends and we're working on the rest. And my sister-in-law is a definate Browncoat. (Although she's in ND right now at college, she'll be back in the summer.) And she's working on a number of converts herself.

Super Shiny!

I met another Minnesota Browncoat just today - Miloradell. She works in Hopkins, lives in Shakopee.

One of my co-workers is one of those young guys who normally wouldn't put a coat on to save his soul in the winter time. Today not only is he wearing a windbreaker AND gloves, he actually went out to start his car and let it warm up before he left!

That's cold!

One of the perks of being a stay at home mom is that most errands aren't so important that they can't be put off until it's warmer.

And the hubby can always bring home more milk and bread.

The fourth is a friend of mine - RoansRUs, also known as Lea. She was my first convert, and bought the DVD set. She and I have been watching westers and sci-fi together since high school, but with being busy on the horse farm, she doesn't have a lot of time to hang out here anymore. I'm sure she'd venture off the place for a shindig though.

Woohoo!! I closed our office early today because of the snow - I can't remember the last time we got so much in so little time! I think I was in college...

My husband is also a Firefly fan, though getting him to sit down and actually watch any of the episodes is a challenge. He's still at work, which is why I'm actually able to use the home computer today! Ha ha ha - mine is an evil laugh! And I know my brother would be a fan, if only his DVD player wasn't broke. And my brother-in-law and father-in-law would totally be into it, if I would actually trust them enough to borrow them my DVD's. But they're just going to have to wait for their b-days! Maybe they should sell Firefly in a 6-pack...

The Halloween storm of 1987 comes to mind, only this is a much finer amount, rather than the big honkin' flakes we got that night. I just used the snow-blower for the second time today because we were gone over the weekend - first time I've done that since we got it. Plus there's two minivans off the driveway. One had at least a foot of snow piled on.

Now THERE's an idea!! One of the browncoats has been using the drug dealer method: Give them a little, get them hooked, get them coming back for more. That means he loans one disc at a time. I may have to try that myself. I can't seem to bring myself to part with the entire set, but I think I could do one disc at a time.

This is pointless to say cause I'm not there now but I was born in Saint Paul and it's good to know I'm not the only Minnesota people to love Firefly too.Chozen not be frozen in Stockton California it's 53 degrees with rain today I'm cool with that.

1987 - yes! The big ol' Halloween blizzard! I have pics of pumpkins on the front steps with a foot of snow on top of them . That's right - I was in high school then. Jeesh! Has it really been so long?

Interesting little factoid I picked up yesterday at alternet.org - it was an article about global warming, and it said that the swing into a full-blown ice age only takes 1-3 years, as opposed to the decades previously believed. Apparently, there is no gradual lead-up to an ice age - open the door one morning, and bam! it's there. I'm a real fan of post-acopolypse fiction, but I'd never thought of it coming as the result of an ice age. Hmmm.......
