Bull Durham is one of my all time favourites - and I think it is Kevin Costners best!

Hmmm... can't think of any movies I'm really embarrassed about liking. Here's a few unpopular movies that are incredibly great to watch for the right person.
The One - Jet Li plays protagonist and antagonist. Movie displays a deep philosophical difference in approaching life that's reflected all the way down to the martial arts they use. If you've never heard of Pa Kua Zhang or Ching I Chuan, then you wont understand any of this.
Elektra - I HATE whoever the main character is. I hate the character and I hate the actress. However, this movie had one of the greatest villains of all time: Kirigi. A Samurai demon who can anticipate his opponent's moves. The other villains were pretty badass as well, Kirigi pwnd.
The 13th Warrior - Vikings! Vikings, damnit! What else needs to be said!? Lo there do I see my father...
Serenity - Bring me the head of a F*X executive!
Steven Segal - Yes... forgive me my sins. I love watching him use Aikido to kill people.
Now, some popular movies that also get over-generalized by the public:
First Blood - The first Rambo movie. Parts 2 and 3 were incredibly cheesey. The first was a very respectable look at the ostracizing of veterans post-Vietnam and the inability for some of the most militarized individuals to "turn in off". Definitely not just a senseless action flick.
Terminator 2 - Yes, everyone in the world likes it. Still, another movie that's labeled as senseless action/violence, but I for one tear up at the final scene.
Rocky - I will watch ANY Rocky movie over the crap they usually play on T.V. I think it's funny how much shit people are willing to give cliché' movies from the 80's, when the simple fact is that they're better than like %80 of the crap that's come out in the past 16 years! Were Schwartzenegger and Stalone really that bad compared to Vin Diesel and Jason Statham?

I'm just feeling an urge to jump in here :) since I don't really know anyone.
Movies I'm embarassed to love...hmm. Ok, I can only think of one. The Little Mermaid. All right, I took an entire semester-long course examining just HOW terrible it is from a sociological perspective but that does NOT change the fact that a) I always wanted to first fly, then be able to live underwater b) she has a beautiful voice c) I watch it whenever I'm sick and could not recover from a flu without it.
It's funny, I bought a notebook in NY that has the seven deadly sins printed all over it in different fonts, and I scrawled across it "Do you know what your sin is?" I think, like Mal, I'm a fan of all seven to very small degrees (for instance, wrath = road rage in Atlanta; gluttony = never getting enough of Firefly, and so on an so forth).
I'm very smart.

Your right. Most of Bob's dancing was soft shoe. But he did do a number with James Cagney in "The Seven Little Foys". They were at a dinner party for vaudevillians and Bob and Cagney climbed on to the dining table and hoofed it for the crowd. This is one of the few more serious movies Bob Hope made. Semibiographical about a vaudevillian named Foy who raised his seven children after their mother died. To keep them together he made them part of his act. You are probably getting the idea I'm a fan of Bob Hope. His USO tours for our troops was very selfless. He put himself in danger more than once and was tireless about reaching ever soldier he could. Now I'm crying.
Us old guys get sentimental.
The woman in my signature is Priscilla Lawson. She played Princess Aura, daughter of Emperor Ming, in the first Flash Gordon serial with Buster Crabbe back in 1936. I saw the series when it aired in Chicago in 1957. I was six years old. You do the math. Can a six year old fall in love? Well I have the complete set of that serial and watch it as often as Firefly. So I have a crush on her. Unfortunatly she died very young, in a car accident. So this is the only film footage I have ever found of her.
Us Browncoats should start a theard to see who can ramble the longest. I'm pretty good at it.
Sorry it took so long to answer your post. I could not get back into FireflyFan site last night. Kept crashing on me.

So i recently ran into a friend that I have not talked to in over 5 years. We kinda had a falling out. His morals kinda fell off the face of the Earth and I would not put up with it. We had a blow out and I stopped associating with him.
It has been quite a while and he has moved back to town. Since he has been gone he has did his big rebellion and has grown up (so he says). He is married and has a daughter. A mutual friend keeps saying that he has grown up. Should I take the time and meet this person for a beer and see for myself or not waste my time.
I grew tired of games well before highschool and am not interested in any drama. I hope that he will not introduce any but who really can know.
Oh yeah and my Wifey was friends with him as well and will not even concider giving him the time of day no matter what I decide.

So often people mistake these kinds of situations as moral obligations - it isn't. If you feel fondly about the friendship you two shared before your falling out, you may have an urge to reconnect with him. If all you are feeling is concern that he is going to make your life more complicated, then don't. This isn't a question of what's right or wrong - who you share your life with, be it friend, spouse, roommate, whatever, is entirely up to you. You're not being a "bad person" or unforgiving if you just don't think it's worth the energy to try with him again.
I'm very smart.
