Random Firefly moment at work

Okay, not only is "Hero of Canton" my official song that always runs through my head at work, but I had a "Firefly moment" at work today. I work at Burger King and my manager and one of my co-workers who works drive-thru were standing next to each other testing out their headsets because they hadn't been working.

Manager: Can you hear me?
Co-worker: Yeah it's really clear now.

Me (thinking to myself): Yeah cause you're standing right there.

This immediately made me think of the episode Serenity and the exchange between Mal and Jayne and I almost started laughing. Luckily I didn't because I think it would have convinced everyone that I was crazy...um, crazier.

"You're talking to Serenity. And Early...Serenity is very unhappy."

I always think of that same scene every time I see someone do that kind of radio test...even if they aren't standing next to each other.

That little scene in the pilot really helps
set attitudes and relationships and gives us
a laugh as well.

Hahahahahaha! Gorram, I thought it was just me! We use radios a fair bit at work, and radio checks happen constantly.

Most of my Firefly moments at work, though, come from Kaylee. (Not much shooting at work, but lots of engineering.) Though I have to admit watching Kaylee has made me appreciate the value of having spare parts. Place I work believes in having spares. Spares are a good thing. (DID Kaylee ever get that spare compression coil?)

Thank goodness movie quotes are a running theme at work. I CAN go ahead and laugh, and no one thinks I'm crazy. They just ask what line I'm thinking of so they can laugh, too.
