Ok, I'm going to get a tattoo done this weekend, but I need a decent pic of the chinese "serenity" characters without the english translation plastered across the front.
I'm no good at artwork, so if somebody can post a pic (pref black and white) I can print on here in the next few hours, I'd be grateful (my printer at home is busted, so I'll need to print it before I finish work).

Thanks.

Also, a very clear version of the characters by themselves can be found here: http://chineseculture.about.com/library/symbol/blcc_serenity.htm
It includes a link to a "printer-friendly" version!

A family is a place where minds come in contact with one another. If these minds love one another the home will be as beautiful as a flower garden. But if these minds get out of harmony with one another it is like a storm that plays havoc with them. - Gautama Siddharta

Good luck! I'm seriously considering getting the Irish word for serenity tattooed in ogham on my back.

Shouldn't that be carved up your spine?

That was funnier in my head. Sorry.

What does that look like, anyway? Someone 'borrowed' my extremely-useful-book-of-weird-stuff with that sort of thing in it. I can do runes, though...

Like this

It was usually carved into stone or wood. Words are read from the bottom up. It's quite simple and very pretty if done well.

EDIT: Okay, lets try that again...

Now that's commitment. I'm not willing to tattoo myself for anything.

www.Fandone.com has a temporary tattoo of the Serenity in Chinese, very simple black ink,

also on my website I have the chinese words on a car decal www.texasartcat.com/bluesun.html

either way there is a clean distraction free view of the design

oh and FYI it does not literally translate to Serenity, but it is what it means,
literally I think it says tranquil and serene ?

Browncoats are the shiniest folks in the 'verse

In my case, the word serenity has a special, personal meaning, so it wouldn't just be for the show. Plus I'm personalising it a little by translating it to Irish and writing it in ogham.

I admire people who are dedicated enough browncoats to get the logo tattooed!

EDIT: It translates literally as calm, I think.
